The name is Santhosh Suvarna, the Indian-origin high stakes player who is grabbing headlines wherever he goes to grind. Don’t believe us? Keep reading and you will know what we are talking about.
When Suvarna sat down to grind alongside Nik Airball and Patrik Antonius, little did these two know that the Indian pro would beat their asses like there is no tomorrow.
Trust us, we are not exaggerating. These three players were grinding at the Big Bet Poker Live at the Tropicana and oh boy, Suvarna unleashed hell on Airball and Antonius, under the name of running hot.
Let us tell you that in the hand against Antonius, Suvarna raised blindly. Oh yeah! The pro who recently won his first title at Triton Poker Series, raised $3K without seeing his hole cards from under the gun (UTG).
Later he saw he had Queens. After Suvarna made his move, controversy’s favourite child, Eric Persson 3-bet to $12K. Ben Lamb folded, the former Tennis star, 4-bet $80K from the dealer button with AQo. This made Suvarna jam his chips and Antonius followed suit.
Both the players had a brief conversation about running it once or twice and Suvarna offered to do what Antonius desired. The latter said once whilst raising his finger.

Everyone wanted to see what the board would present. The dealer fanned a flop of 7h 6c 2h. This was followed by 5h and Qd on the turn and river respectively. The river gave Suvarna a set with his Queens and a win obviously.
Antonius looked quite dejected but who cares Suvarna looked every bit the slayer he is. All this went down and Airball was seen having fun and adding his bit of trash talk to the game. But sadly this player had no clue that he was next to get his ass beaten by Suvarna.
In the very next hand after locking horns with Antonius, Suvarna rolled up his sleeves to deliver a blow to Nik Airball. This time the Indian high stakes pro had Cowboys and Airball was playing with a Big Slick.
Suvarna raised $18K and Airball responded by shoving $100,100. Suvarna matched and got up to hear from Airball that he wants to run it twice.
On the first go, the board brought 8d 4c 5d Qc Tc. Second board fell as 7s Qd 2c 4d 7d. Both the times, Airball failed to get past Suvarna who was now sitting with a monstrous stack which was envied by most on the table.
