Romit Advani’s EMOTIONAL Reaction On Seeing His Bride Has Us In Tears!

Poker pro Romit Advani recently tied the knot with his girlfriend, Khushboo Asnani. The couple’s love story was recently featured on Humans of Bombay. And guess what? Advani makes for an adorable groom, as he is seen crying when his to-be bride walks down the aisle.

Humans of Bombay shared a post on their Instagram account, which included a video from the couple’s wedding day. Mrs. Advani is all smiles as she walks down the aisle is a baby pink lehenga. Advani is seen with tears of joy in his eyes as he is overwhelmed to see his dreamy bride walk towards him.

The couple got married in December last year on a beach in Krabi, Thailand. They apparently met via the social media platform Instagram in 2020. Post that, they fell in love with each other and travelled across continents. Khushboo, an ex-cabin crew member, would often accompany Advani on his poker trips to Nepal, Vietnam and Sikkim.

Romit Advani And Khushboo Asnani’s Journey:

The post described their entire journey of courtship till marriage in the words of Asnani.

“Romit & I met in 2020–he slid into my DMs & soon…into my heart! In fact, we skipped the whole ‘small talk’ phase & directly moved into the deeper conversations. The more we spoke, the more we realised how alike we were!

I’m an ex-cabin crew member & he’s a professional poker player. Our work had taken us across the world. So we spoke about countries we’d visited & wanted to visit. He also told me about his life in Goa & I told him about mine in Bombay!

But within a month, our interactions stopped. We were both coming out of difficult relationships…we needed time to recover & believe again. So, we lost touch. And then 3 months later, out of the blue, we reconnected—I was in Goa for my birthday & Romit had been living there during Covid. He came to wish me at 3AM! We spent the entire day talking & getting to know each other. Talking to him felt easy. That day, deep down, I realised this could be something more…

We began shuttling between Bombay & Goa after that. I’d go with him on his poker trips; we went to Vietnam, Nepal, & Sikkim! It was happening too fast but it didn’t feel that way. It was just meant to be.

2 years just flew by. And then in March 2022, Romit’s family was in Goa to celebrate his parents’ wedding anniversary. That day, he surprised all of them—he told everyone about ‘us!’ They were elated!

It felt like a sign & so when Romit proposed to me in Bali, amidst nature, I knew I had to say ‘YES!’ And just a month back, we had the wedding of our dreams—poolside haldi, mehendi & a sundowner wedding!

I still remember the moment I was walking down the aisle, Romit was in tears! I mean, we were pretty overwhelmed that day; but I guess it was also that feeling of knowing that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together! I felt like the luckiest bride…

Because you know, love…the kind you feel in your bones, that gives you warmth on a cold day & is your umbrella on rainy ones? That’s how we feel with each other, & that’s more than enough!,” the post read. (sic.)

Advani had proposed to his Khushboo in Bali in August last year.

Poker has been denied its long-standing due for years now in India. And so are poker players in the country. The lack of mainstream coverage has led to the sport often going unnoticed. And being featured on a page like Humans of Bombay definitely means something for a poker professional. Hopefully, now, more players will know that there are people who play poker for a living.

We wish Romit and Khuhboo a lifetime of love, laughter, happiness, travel, and poker!
