In November last year, Spartan Poker hosted the first-ever Final Table Series (FTS) and after the huge success of that online poker series, we had another edition scheduled for March 2021. Yesterday, the FTS 2.0 INR 40 Lakh GTD Challenger Event kicked off and after 800+ entries joined the field, we stopped at the final eight players with Tarun Guwalani from Delhi in the lead.
As we’ve seen in this series so far, the overnight chip leader wasn’t able to go on and win the tournament as he eventually busted in 4th place in this event. With quite a few new names on the FT, the gameplay was tight and no one wanted to give in easily, resulting in our longest final table in FTS 2.0 so far. Eventually, it was Rohan Bhasin aka ‘The Sightseer’ who took home all honours, winning the title and the top prize of INR 7,73,357!

Considering he was among the three lowest stacked players at the start of the final table, it was no surprise that Abhijeet Kumar aka ‘knot_snudtke’ was the first casualty on the FT, busting in 8th for a payday of INR 86,242. Again, no surprise as another short stack exited the tournament with Peter Nazareth aka ‘Sigmund’ heading out in 7th place for INR 1.24 Lakh in prize money.
The next elimination was a bit of a shocker as Sooraj Todi playing as ‘soorajtodi’ ended his run in 6th place after originally starting the final table as the second chip leader. He finished his tournament, losing AJ to Rohan Bhasin’s pocket Kings. One of the most experienced players on the FT was Gokul Raj playing as ‘Super Kings’ and this was his second FT from the live streamed tournaments. Again, he fell short of the title, finishing in 5th for a prize of INR 2.12 Lakh.
Tarun Guwalani aka ‘MrSweets06’ was the overnight chip leader and as we saw in the last couple of streams too, the FT chip leader wasn’t able to go on to win the event. He finished in 4th place and after him, another experienced player in Yasheel Doddanavar aka ‘YagammiLight7’ headed out, ending in 3rd for INR 3.47 Lakh.
The heads-up session went on for pretty long and they were even-stevens for quite a while before Bhasin took the lead and eventually sealed the deal in the best way possible. He won the final hand with a royal flush and took home the title for the top prize of INR 7.73 Lakh while Palash Nandwani aka ‘palash777’ ended a great run on Spartan Poker as the runner-up of the FTS Challenger Event.
