River Brings A Surprise

On the feature table, in what can only be known as a topsy turvy hand, with A ♠ 5 ♣ for hole cards, Abhishek Jalan bet preflop 1,600 which was called by Vineet Kumar who had 8 ♠ 4 ♣. The first three cards were 2 ❤ 4 ❤ 8 ❤ and Kumar flopped two pairs (88, 44). The action checked to the turn 3 ♦ and Jalan hit a straight and called the 1,400 bet made by Kumar. The poker Gods had other plans because just like a sudden change in the tide, the river brought 4 ♠ and a full boat to Kumar which shifted the winning hand to him. Jalan’s straight did not hold any water and he lost the pot while Kumar doubled up. We bet the players did not see this twist in the ending! This was definitely a hand worthy of a feature table.
