Mehul Shah, Puneet Mehra and Rishikesh Shah are owners of the Mumbai Anchors team in the Pocket52 Poker Sports League. Shah is the managing director of Anchor Group and has always been a person with a vision of the future in his eyes. Joining his father’s company at the age of 19, he learned everything that was needed to understand the switch-making business.
He always knew that he would spearhead the company in future and had shared how he learnt everything from his father, who would take care of most of the company’s operations. Shah’s leadership propelled the company to realize the value they had created for the brand in the market, which saw them widen the horizon and enter the unchartered territory of manufacturing lights, wires, fans and paints.
Being the second generation entrepreneur, Shah was always under pressure to perform, with expectations demanding him to outperform his predecessor. Shah did not disappoint and played a crucial role in re-launching Anchor’s electrical division in 2014. Speaking with entrepreneur.com during an interview, Shah was seen giving advice to upcoming entrepreneurs stating, “never sell your business or passion.”

Since then, he was often seen investing in sports, having bought an IPL team (Kochi Tuskers Kerala) and investing in real estate projects. Shah is also an angel investor in startups like Sportobuddy and Miracle before owning Mumbai Anchors in the Pocket52 Poker Sports League.
Shah and his partners Puneet Mehra and Rishikesh Shah saw their being heavily involved in the Poker Sports League Season 5 auction, which took place on 8th July in Goa. Following five hours of some intense bidding action, all the owners managed to form their team for the upcoming edition of the edition. Here’s what the team roster of Mumbai Anchors looked like for the Pocket52 PSL season.

Speaking about his investment strategy, Shah is quoted as saying, “I am an active investor, who is a lot like being an entrepreneur. I like to interact a lot with the founder as I believe in investing in people and not in a company. At the time of writing, his team Mumbai Anchors is ranked first on the PSL table and has cemented their place for the live finals. It remains interesting to see if they can go all the way this year.
