PPPoker has realized the live poker industry in Asia is on a rise and ever since last year, they have been trying to expand and host frequent live poker series in different Asian locations. After the PPPoker World Championship that they hosted in Manila earlier this year, action now shifts to Taiwan for another live series.
PPPoker has tied up with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association in Taipei to host the second edition of the PPPoker Festival Taiwan, and the series has been scheduled between 15-19 May 2019. The 5-day event features a Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of NTD 2,000,000 (~$65,000).
Apart from that, there will be a ton of side events with buy-ins ranging between NTD 2,200 to NTD 33,000. The mobile application brand has successfully launched itself into the live poker business with events in countries like India, Philippines, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Australia and others. This will be their second stop in Taiwan after a successful event here in September 2018.
A total of nine events have been scheduled for the series including Main Event satellites, a high roller, a ladies’ event, and a bounty event to wrap off proceedings on 19th May. There will also be a freeroll tournament and a special NTD 300 Spin & Go Event, so there’s a lot to look forward to.
Taiwan is now becoming an upcoming destination for poker in Asia. Recently, both of Asia Poker League (APL) as well as Asian Poker Tour (APT) hosted their inaugural stops in Taiwan, while global brand World Poker Tour (WPT) announced their maiden series there come July 2019.
