Phil Hellmuth has again made headlines, and this time around, it’s for something we wouldn’t expect. He misread his hand on Hustler casino’s live stream. Yes! We’re not kidding! 16-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth MISREAD a hand on a live stream for real!
He was so pained by the hand that after losing, he quickly shared his feelings via a Twitter post. ‘PokerBrat’ wrote, “Lost personal record (since 2012, roughly 33 sessions) in LIVESTREAM or televised poker: $144,500 on @HCLPokerShow. Tough day! But, game played BIG! Next 10 days: filming @LIVEattheBike 3 times starting tomorrow, and “No Gamble, No Future” twice. Plenty of time to recover!!” (sic)

He had KT, but thought he had AT and confidently played the board of 8 ♣ Q ♣ A ♠ 7 ❤ 5 ❤ . What was next? He lost a massive pot of $154,900 to his opponent Stanley Tang. To know more about what exactly happened, click here.
Well, such an error was not expected from someone like Hellmuth. Everyone joined the conversation, including poker pro Daniel Negreanu. Alan Keating, who was also on the table at the stream, was seen laughing at the incident.

But the best take on the situation came from the popular poker publication, PokerNews. The platform took a funny take on Hellmuth busting out early at the game and linked it to the Valentine’s Day celebration. They shared a past video of Hellmuth’s bust out, where he busted early and wrote, “Don’t worry Phil. Finishing early on Valentine’s Day happens to a lot of guys.”
