PokerBaazi’s GOAT Ends In A Deal! 1.6 Cr Shared By The Top Two


The biggest-ever online poker event in the history of Indian poker was held yesterday and needless to say it was an epic one! We are talking about PokerBaazi’s Greatest Of All Tournaments (GOAT) tournament that concluded last night. True to its name, the GOAT had a massive guarantee of ₹7 Crore on offer, which was surpassed generating a final prize pool of a staggering ₹7.2 Crore.

Yes, ₹7.2 Crore for an online poker event in India. The event was hosted to commemorate PokerBaazi’s eight years in the industry. The anniversary celebration was held across eight days with multiple qualifiers running from 30th October to 6th November 2022. The final started at 9 PM on 6th November with 944 qualifying players gathering to battle it out to make it to the top. All the 944 players had made it in the money and would walk home with a min-cash of ₹21,590. But the real deal was the prize of ₹1.63 Crore up top. 

However, when the field was down to the top two at around 4.45 AM, the final two decided on an ICM deal to split the pot. An unknown player by the username ‘Huskaral’ took the PokerBaazi GOAT winner title along with the prize of ₹94,69,000, while Puneet Sachan aka ‘puneetdurr111’ took the runner-up spot and pocketed ₹68,73,000.

Lawyer turned poker pro Anmol Mehta aka ‘anzzzzz’ was the second runner-up who walked away with an addition of ₹31,52,000 to his bankroll. Other players on the final table included Avish Sharma aka ‘thehorse7’ (4th, ₹27,13,000), Shashank Shekhar aka ‘Iverson003’ (5th, ₹23,03,000), Vishal Kumar aka ‘karan23’ (6th, ₹19,43,000), Vinayak Bajaj aka ‘salmanbhai’ (7th, ₹16,19,000), Anish Grover aka ‘Sniper7’ (8th, ₹13,24,000) and ‘sickflip’ (9th, ₹10,00,000).

Among the 944 paid places were some well-known names such as Ashish Munot (23rd, ₹2,16,000), Nitin Arora (25th, ₹1,08,000), Bhanu Prakash (51st, ₹71,960), Kanishk Upreti (72nd, ₹64,760), Ashish Ahuja (88th, ₹64,760), Mithun Mahesh (105th, ₹57,570), Abhimanyu Mittal (111th, ₹57,570) and Neel Joshi (116th, ₹57,570).
