Wednesday Roundup: Dishani Vijay, Siddhanth Gangwar Among Others Win Top Spots


Wednesday night on the online poker felts was no less than an action-packed and dramatic affair. While the well-known names battled it out at IOPC Day 4, the other poker platforms were equally flooded. Here’s what happened on Wednesday night:

The Pride – ₹10 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi’s The Pride tourney recorded 329 entries battling it out. This ₹3,850 buy-in tournament crushed the initial guarantee to generate a final prize pool of ₹13.72 Lakh. The min-cash drawn at this tourney was ₹7,683, while the top 45 places got to enjoy a taste of the prize pool.

Dishani Vijay aka ‘Dishvish’ shipped The Pride for ₹2,62,000 with four re-entries. The runner-up position was claimed by Kaushik Tibrewal aka ‘kaushik1989,’ who took home ₹2,28,000 in prize money. Megastack winner, Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ finished third for ₹1,30,000.

Other notable players who finished in the money included Ashish Munot (5th, ₹72,030), Sagar Choudhury (9th, ₹28,810), IOPC #12 All Rounder winner, Vinay Rajpal (14th, ₹17,150), Sanish Chhabra (17th, ₹14,680), Ram Kakkar (23rd, ₹11,520), Shashank Desai (24th, ₹11,520), Mithun Mahesh (27th, ₹10,150), Kritagya Sharma (30th, ₹8,918), Ritwik Khanna (33rd, ₹8,918), Kumar Vatsal (34th, ₹8,918) and IOPC #24 All Rounder winner, Goonjan Mall (41st, ₹7,638).

IPC 2020 champion, Rubin Labroo, who also shipped IOPC #23 Wednesday Spotlight yesterday, was the bubble boy at this tourney. Others who got busted early include WSOP bracelet winner, Kartik Ved (52nd), Siddhanth Kripalani (68th), Adda52 Game Ambassador, Kunal Patni (72nd), Aman Parakh (82nd), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (83rd), Sahil Mahboobani (84th), Kanchan Sharma (85th), Anirban Das (99th), Vinayak Bajaj (101st), Armaan Kochhar (108th) and Night on Stars winner, Siddharth Gangwar (114th) among others.

PokerStars Night on Stars – ₹5 Lakh GTD

Night on Stars tourney was indeed a night full of poker stars who wanted to shine bright on the virtual felts as well. The tourney surpassed the advertised guarantee as the final prize pool stood aat ₹5,08,851. Out of the 287 entries, the top 35 places made it in the money and drew a min-cash of ₹4,699.

Siddharth Gangwar aka ‘gangnam gangi’ topped the table and added ₹96,888 to his bankroll. The second position was claimed by anonymous player ‘freak_wierd0,’ who walked away with ₹72,548. At the third spot Suresh Kolli aka ‘Wabi-$abi’ departed with a pay cheque of ₹54,323.

Poker pros like Aman Parakh (9th, ₹9,574), The Big Show winner, Vinay Rajpal (10th, ₹8,014), Anirban Das (11th, ₹8,014), Karan Malhotra (24th, ₹5,614), Manish Lakhotia (31st, ₹4,699), Arsh Grover (34th, ₹4,699) and Sanish Chhabra (35th,₹4,699) made some money if not the top spot.

Anonymous player ‘kabir2298,’ who shipped PokerStars’ Sixth Sense on Tuesday, ended up being the bubble boy at this tourney. Players like Sagar Choudhury (37th), IOPC January 2021 Main Event winner, Laksh Pal Singh (40th), Harsh Dembla (42nd), Bharath Kumar (46th), Armaan Kochhar (70th), and The Summit winner, Kunal Patni (76th), Mithun Mahesh (89th) got busted.

Maverick – ₹15 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s staple Maverick was a bustling affair. The 679 entries managed to generate a prize pool of ₹15,44,723. The top 72 places were paid a min-cash of ₹3,089.

The Maverick was shipped by anonymous player ‘gothamishan’ for ₹3,86,181. The second spot was claimed by IOPC #11 Blaze of Glory runner-up Ashwin Vijay aka ‘Ashwinvijay1399’ for ₹2,23,985. Mystery player ‘Acheron’ had a payday of ₹1,51,383 at the third spot.

Players who made it to the top 72 places include Ram Kakkar (11th, ₹19,309), Gutshot Magazine’s June 2021 cover star Siddhanth Kapoor (18th, ₹10,813), Laksh Pal Singh (28th, ₹7,724), Gaurav Sood (29th, ₹7,724), Mithun Mahesh (33rd, ₹6,951), Ritwik Khanna (42nnd, ₹6,179), India Poker Champion 2020 Main Event winner, Rubin Labroo (56th, ₹3,862), Vivek Singh (59th, ₹3,862), Adda52 Game Ambassador, Kunal Patni (63rd, ₹3,862) and Gagandeep Singh (72nd, ₹3,098).
