USOP Da Nang 2023 ME: The Naing Wins The Title

The coveted Main Event of the USOP Da Nang 2023 was nailed by Singapore’s The Naing. He was the chip leader heading into the final table with a stack of 15,700,000 chips. 

Naing kept the pressure on and ensured he sailed through some stiff competition. For the smashing Main Event victory Naing gets a pay cheque of VND 5,720,000,000 (~$2,35,973). The Main Event generated a final prize pool of VND 34,810,800,000 (~$1,434,000) thanks to the massive entry field of 1,595.

Ritwik Khanna Is Deep In The tank

On Level 37, 40K/80K, big blind ante 80K, Daewoong Song opened with 160K from the button position. Indian poker pro Ritwik Khanna defends from big blind. Flop showed Jc 5c 8s. Song c-bets to 135K and Khanna check-raised to 360K. Song goes all-in and Khanna is deep in tank so much so that he used up all his time bank chips and in the end folded. Khanna now has 935,000 in his kitty to fight ahead.

Amit Kaushik Losing Chips

On Level 32: 10K/25K, big blind ante 25K, Amit Kaushik defends his big blind when Masich opened with 50K. The flop came as Th 6c 3s. Kaushik bets 65K and his rival calls; both players check the turn of 8c. 4h came on the river and Kaushik threw 175K which saw Masich raise to 400K. The Indian pro folded. Kaushik will try his best to add to his trophy tally in the Main Event after his Turbo event victory at the USOP Da Nang 2023.

68 Players Are Now On Their Second Break

On Level 31, 10K/20K, big blind ante 20K, USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event Day 2 now has 68 players in contention. The players are on their second break for the day.

Blinds Going Up, 89 Players Left

On Level 31, 10K/20K, big blind ante 20K. The Main Event has hit a stage where only 89 remain. How many twists are waiting ahead? Only time will tell.

Harsh Bubna Out Of The ME Race

On Level 30, 10K/15K, big blind ante 15K, Natalia Rozova min-raises from the button position. Blinds call, and all three players checked the flop 7s 3h 6s. The turn brought 5s and small blind player, Dang Van Hien bet 25K, big blind player folds and remaining two call. 2h comes on the river and Dang again goes for a bet but this time for 80K.

Rozova matches and Hien shows QTo but Rozova scoops the hand with top pair (J7s). Immediately after this, Rozova raises to 30K from the cutoff position. Harsh Bubna from small blind re-raises 185K and his rival shoves. Bubna throw his remaining chips in the middle. Rozova has pocket nines while Bubna had pocket sixes and the board read 2s 8s Jd 2d 3s. Bubna was eliminated.

At First Break Of The Day 117 Players Survive

The players grinding in the Main Event Day 2 are on their first break of the day. Now, with the game on Level 29, 6K/12K, big blind ante 12K, 117 will further slog it out for the top spot once the game resumes. 

Blinds Go Up, 158 Players In Contention

The game has hit Level 29, 6K/12K, big blind ante 12K. Now the Main Event Day 2 is further getting intense as the game advances with higher blinds. 158 players remain.

Vishal Ojha Doubles Up

On Level 28, ante 5K/10K, big blind ante 10K, Vishal Ojha who was short stacked got a breather. He opened with 42K leaving behind only 2K. Dang Van Hien pushed from small blind position. Ojha threw in his remaining 2K and revealed K ♠ Q ♦ . Hien had pocket fives and the board read Ts A ♠ 6 ♦ 6 ♣ J ♦ . Ojha hits a straight to win the hand and double ups smoothly.

Cards Are In The Air

Day 2 of the coveted USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event kicked off amid high energy. Survivors from all the starting day flights will be battling it out for the VND 5,720,000,000 (~$235,630) first place prize and the shiny new USOP Main Event trophy. All the players grinding on Day 2 are guaranteed a payday of at least VND 35,500,000 (~$1,460). The game kicks off on Level 28, ante 5K/10K, big blind ante 10K.

Main Event Payouts Announced

Finally, the much awaited USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event. The top prize sits at VND 5,720,000,000. The min-cash stands at VND 35,500,000. The final prize pool registered in the Main Event is VND 34,801,800,000 (~$1,434,000). 

USOP Da Nang 2023 ME: Final Two Flights Conclude

After some nail-biting action across the two final starting day flights to the USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event, the day has ended on a high note. Day 1C had record-setting 576 entries from which 72 qualified into Day 2. 

Day 1D registered 304 entries and 38 survived ahead. The total number of entries recorded at the USOP Da Nang 2023 ME is 1,595 out of which 201 will battle it out at the coveted Day 2. Indian pros like Avneesh Munjal (193,000 chips) and Rohit Begwani (149,000 chips) qualified for Day 2 via Day 1D.

Alan Pham with 1,109,000 chips is the overall start of Day 2 chip lead while Indian pro Meherzad Munsaf has the third highest chip stack of 989,000. Munsaf is the only Indian in the top 10 stacks.

Day 1C received a massive number of entries which led to Day 1D getting delayed by an hour. Indian poker pro Ritwik Khanna bubbled Day 1C and that ensured two other players bagged and tagged (both stacks over 800K) ahead of Day 2. 

Main Event Day 2 Pushed Ahead

The much awaited USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event (ME) was slated to begin at 12:15 PM (local time). But due to the overwhelming participation in the final two starting flights (Day 1C and Day 1D), the organisers have decided to push the ME Day 2 for 1:15 PM (local time). The brand shared this update on their social media handles and on their Telegram channel. Players please note of this update. 

USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event Makes Record With 1,360 Entries

The highly anticipated USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event creates history by becoming the biggest tournament ever hosted. The event broke records with its 1,360 entries and surpassing the advertised guarantee of VND 15 Billion. The final prize pool is now VND 30 Billion. The advertised guarantee of the much awaited USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event (ME) has been surpassed owing to the 1220 entries. This is the largest ever Main Event number ever recorded. USOP Da Nang 2023 ME Day 1C And 1D: Intense Action Ahead

Today two starting day flights will be hosted namely, Day 1C and Day 1D. These two are the final chances for players to qualify for the coveted USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event. Flight Day 1D will be hosted in the Turbo format. 

When it comes to Indians qualifying for the Main Event Day 2, we have Vishal Ojha, Siddharth Karia, Mohit Bohra, Kabir Khattar, Aditya Singh, Meherzad Munsaf (Day 1B chip lead) and Amit Kaushik making the cut.

Meherzad Munsaf Leads The Survivors After Day 1B

Indian poker pro Meherzad Munsaf is leading the pack of survivors from Main Event flight Day 1B with a stack of 989,000. Munsaf battled a player field of 382 to be the chip leader at the end. Only 48 have survived and advanced into Day 2 of the Main Event.

Apart from Munsaf, Amit Kaushik has also qualified for Day 2 with a stack of 720,000. The IIT Roorkee graduate has the fourth highest stack among the 48 survivors. 

There are five more Indian poker players who qualified for Day 2 via flight Day 1B, they are, Vishal Ojha, Siddharth Karia, Mohit Bohra, Kabir Khattar, and Aditya Singh. The total number of chips in play were 15,426,000 and the average stack size was 312,375. 

Edwin Dela Cruz Turns Bubble Boy In Day 1B

Former USOP Main Event winner, Edwin Dela Cruz sadly became the bubble boy in the Main Event flight Day 1B. In the unfortunate hand Nguyen Duy Thuc who is a WPT Prime Vietnam champion went for a three-bet jam holding A ❤ 5 ❤ . Dela Cruz with less than 11 BB stack risked it holding Fishhooks. The community cards fell as Q ❤ 2 ❤ 7 ❤ 9 ❤ T ♣. This gave Thuc a flush and a win. Dela Cruz was walking towards the exit door.

318 Entries So Far

The Day 1B of the USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event saw 318 players so far. The tournament has smashed its advertised guarantee of VND 15 Billion. The final prize pool figure and number of entries will be announced once the late registrations close. When it comes to Indians, we have Vishal Ojha grinding in Day 1B and another Indian Vinay B has qualified for Day 2 via starting flight Day 1A. Can Ojha be the next Indian pro to qualify for Day 2?  

Vishal Ojha Battles It Out In Day 1B

USOP Hanoi 2023 Main Event (ME) champ Vishal Ojha is grinding in the second starting flight of USOP Da Nang ME Day 1B. He is on his second bullet and hoping to find a bag for Day 2. The ME flight Day 1B has so far recorded 286 entries and late registrations are open until Level 11 starts. The average stack in play stands at 51K.

This VND 25 Million buy-in event will only see the action get more heated as every player will fight for the VND 15 Billion GTD.

USOP Da Nang 2023 ME: Day 1A Ends With 39 Surviving Ahead

The first starting flight of the much awaited USOP Da Nang 2023 Main Event has ended with Hwany Lee grabbing the chip lead of 1,008,000. The Day 1A flight received 308 total entries (228 unique entries). 39 players have managed to survive and find a bag for Day 2. When it comes to surviving players, The Naing has the second highest stack of 923,000. The only Indian to qualify via Day 1A for Day is poker pro Vinay B. 

Ka Shun Tsang Turns Bubble Boy In Day 1A

Ka Shun Tsang had won a freeroll ticket to the Main Event with a hope to use that ticket to run deep. Sadly for this poker player that dream was ashes as he turned bubble boy in Day 1A. The starting flight saw him left with only 4 BB when he went for the shove holding Snowmen against Nguyen Quang Huy who had T9o. Romain Biers who has two side event trophies is also in contention. 

Game Is on Level 4 With More Player Joining In

The highly anticipated Main Event of the USOP Da Nang 2023 series is witnessing a steady influx of players joining the fold. Currently, the game is on Level 4 and blinds are at 200/400, big blind ante 400. 134 players are already grinding and more will be joining to further make the game intense. The moment is finally here when the highly anticipated U Series Of Poker (USOP) Da Nang 2023 Main Event kick-starts amid high energy.
