Day 9 of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) had several flagship tournaments. Players were flooding to Spartan Poker and here’s all the information of what went down yesterday:
The first tournament of the day had 706 entries and the top 63 players were paid a min-cash of INR 2,066. The winner of this tournament was Anish Arora aka ‘downswing4ever’ who banked INR 76,665 in prize money. In level #48 Arora was leading with a chip lead of 3:1 against ‘kishor o7o’ and ‘RTD27.’ After posting the ante and small blind, big blind Arora re-raised. ‘kishor o7o’ and ‘RTD27’ folded on the preflop. Leading the chip ratio, Arora won the pot. Arora had previously won IOPC #7 and he took home INR 2,18,848.
Talking about the consecutive wins so far, Arora said, “I’m still a player who is learning to be better, and shipping the second tournament of this year’s IOPC is a crazy feeling. Just really amped up for the rest of the series and hope I can continue this momentum for the rest of it.”
The second tournament of the day was a INR 1,650 buy-in and had 433 entries. The advertised guarantee of the tournament was surpassed by the final prize pool of INR 6,49,500. The winner of this tournament was ‘kduggal13.’ He bagged the top position and took home INR 1,13,580 in prize money. In level #44 of the tournament, ‘kduggal’ was leading with a chip ratio of 2:1 in comparison with ‘Action_Dan’ and ‘MainEventBaby.’
The action ended as ‘MainEventBaby’ and ‘Action_Dan’ folded on the preflop stage.
IOPC #57 INR 990 buy-in tournament had a total of 596 entries. The winner was ‘jmdjmd’ who shipped the tournament and took home INR 68,125 in prize money. Five players entered level #50 and in the pre flop stage, four of the players including ‘veryluckyguy,’ ‘vaji,’ ‘Piko,’ ‘It’s Easy M’kay’ folded. ‘jmdjmd’ and ‘Piko’ had a better a chip ratio lead than the rest eventually leading to a deal.
This tournament had 324 entries and the top 23 players were paid a min-cash of INR 4,060. The winner of this tournament was Priyank Kothari aka ‘Piko’ who cashed INR 74,559 in prize money.
In level #44, Piko was leading with the chip stack. All the three players, namely ‘Zedd’ ‘RadioActivity’ and Kothari posted the ante and their Hole cards were 9♣ Q♦, 7♥ Q♠ , and A♦ 4♣. In the preflop stage, ‘Zedd’ folded and ‘RadioActivity’ raised and went all-in. The community cards were revealed, and they were K♥, A♣, 8♥, 8♠,7♣. Both ‘Radioactivity’ and Kothari had two pairs, but the latter had an Ace high pair. Eventually, Kothari collected the pot and took home the prize money. In the previous tournament, #57, Kothari was the runner-up and he took home INR 62,793.
This was one of the flagship tournaments of Day 9. With a buy-in of INR 1,650 the tournament had 1,359 entries. The winner of this tournament was Parikshit Dhall aka ‘zapdos1311’ who took home an impressive INR 3,84,053. In level #60, Dhall was leading with a massive chip count with a 11:1 ratio. The players, ‘OttomanRebels’ and Dhall were dealt J♦ 8♣ and A♣ 9♠ respectively. On the preflop, ‘OttomanRebels’ raised and went all-in while Dhall called the bet. The community cards were laid out as 6♥ 9♣ 9♦ A♦5♠. , ‘OttomanRebels’ had a pair while Dhall grabbed a major chunk of the pot with a full house.
Players surely tried their level best to clinch the top spot in this tournament. With 618 entries, the tournament started at 9:30 PM and went on till 5:10 AM. Harsh Karanpuria aka ‘harsh20’ bagged the top position and won INR 9,52,171 in prize money. Here what he has to say about the tournament, “Surviving through crazy down swing and bad beats, my persistence finally paid off. Its a journey, I keep learning and improving.”
On the preflop, ‘ephemeral’ and ‘joey114114’ raised while Karanpuria called the bet and ‘Ari Tribbiani’ folded. ‘joey11411’ uncalled the bet while Karanpuria’s chip stack worked in his favour.
This tournament had a buy-in of INR 2,200. There were a total of 558 entries and 47 places were paid a min-cash of INR 6,361. The winner of this tournament was Abhishek Rathod aka ‘nbc345’ who took home INR 2,17,508 in prize money. In level #61 ‘nbc345’ had a humongous chip stack which was 246 times more than what ‘space ace’ had.
