Pakistan’s MAXD Esports Claim Victory At Red Bull Campus Clutch Valorant Qualifier

The MAXD Esports team from Pakistan won at the Red Bull Campus Clutch regional finals. They defeated India’s Team Villainous in what was almost a one-sided game.

The Pakistani team registered a 2-0 win at the Redbull Campus Clutch Grand Final by defeating Sri Lanka’s Union Gaming. As against this, India’s Team Villainous had a relatively smoother entry into the Grand Final as they had automatically advanced to the finals.

The event held on June 5th, 2021, saw the teams from the two neighboring countries compete for the title of the best team in the South Asian circuit. Of all the other finals scheduled for that day, this event was anticipated to be a nail-biting one, as this showdown featured two of the best teams. However, people saw the opposite with the MAXD Esports team wrapping up the game earlier than expected.

MAXD’s Anas ‘traNz’ Ayub led the team to victory on the first map bind. Team Villainous’ Astra curveball did not help during the initial games on a smaller map. On the other hand, MAXD’s double controller set-up paired better with the crisp aims of it’s players proved effective. The Pakistani roster led by Abdul ‘HSB’ Haseeb gave zero round wins to the other team during the first few rounds, however, the Indian team broke MAXD’s winning streak in the sixth round.

The Indian team showcased a commendable play in the sixth round, however, it couldn’t bag the title. In the second map Ascent, both teams had their Sentinels topping the scoreboard. MAXD picked five unique rosters for each map, whereas the Indian team’s strategy didn’t change much in both the rounds. The team used exceptional tactics, however, the MAXD captain used updated strategies. The Pakistan-based team secured its position in the World League by defeating India 13-8 in the second map.

The Pakistani team has confirmed its spot as the South Asian representation at the World Stage Final with this win. The World Stage Final will take place in Spain, featuring some of the best teams from 50 countries battling it out for the prize pool of $24,000.
