It’s said that wonders shall never cease, and one incident that occurred recently has shocked poker players all around the world. It all happened when an online WSOP bracelet event was cancelled, and that was for lack of quorum. The event required at least eight players, but the event could gather only about four. The event was part of the fall bracelet series, which is currently ongoing at WSOP.com, the $5,300 NLH High Roller.
Poker events, whether online or offline, rarely get cancelled, and one that promised a bracelet getting cancelled has had the poker community talking. After all, the WSOP bracelet is one of the most, if not the most coveted pieces of jewellery in the poker world, and players not gathering up to chance to win that is pretty shocking. This is rare, but it is a double-whammy of unhappy circumstances for the event organisers and the players. Currently, it is unclear whether this has ever happened before.
As soon as the players who had lined up in the comforts of their homes to go on a hunt for the bracelets got the message that the event was cancelled, some of them went ahead and posted about it on their socials, including Mike Setera, who has twelve WSOP circuit rings.
