Neymar Jr. Cashes At Two FTs At WSOP Winter Series Events

It’s been a while since fans saw Brazilian soccer player Neymar in action. The Brazilian has been missing in action ever since he suffered an ankle injury while playing for the Paris St. Germain team in November last year.

While he might be missing the action on the soccer field, the player has made sure to bring some action on the poker felts. Amidst his recovery, Neymar, who is also the brand ambassador of PokerStars, hit the felts of PokerStars to play at the ongoing Winter Series. Not just did he play, he showcased his exceptional poker skills at two high-stakes events and finished at third place in both the events.

At the Winter Series 40-H: $1,050 8-Max Turbo event, the footballer surpassed the 192 player field. He further outlasted top poker players like Chris Oliver aka ‘ImDaNuts,’ Christian Rudolph aka ‘WATnlos,’ and the recently crowned EPT Online Main Event champion ‘WhatifGod’ to make it to the final table.

On the final table, he managed to successfully survive five places before getting busted at the third spot for $23,884. Ivan Zufic aka ‘zufo1’ then defeated Niki Jedlicka aka ‘RealAndyBeal’ in the heads-up to clinch the title for $39,675.

The second event was Winter Series 68-H: $10,300 8-Max High Roller event, Neymar’s first bullet failed to yield any fruits for him and fell at the 49th place. However, his second bullet went deep into the game. The event which witnessed 82 top players battling it out, condensed down to the top eight on the final table.

After Ole Schemion aka ‘wizowizo’ (8th, $29,625), Pedro Garagnani aka ‘pvigar’ (7th, $39,553), Matas Cikinas aka ‘NoTilit’ (6th, $52,808), Andrey Novak aka ‘Anjeyyy’ (5th,$70,505), and ‘uwintakeit’ (4th, $94,132), it was Neymar turn to depart. The Brazilian departed in third place at this event too for $125,678.

It was refreshing to see the soccer superstar flaunt his poker skills off the field. Neymar is reportedly expected to be out of soccer action for another week. It won’t be surprising to see him grind again at the Winter Series on PokerStars in the coming week.
