Neel Joshi Takes Around $7K At Event #49 Of WSOP 2025

Neel Joshi, an Indian poker player, took ~$7000 at Event #49 of WSOP 2025, $3,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em, ranking #81. The tournament is ongoing, and more details will be released soon. Ankit Ahuja,  the other Indian poker player, has survived the day and will return to the felts with 840,000 chips, making him one of the 69 who will. 

Neel Joshi has established himself as one of India’s most promising live tournament poker players. Known for his calm demeanour and analytical gameplay, Neel’s journey into the live poker circuit has been marked by consistency, maturity, and breakout performances on major international stages.

His most notable result came at the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. Competing in Event #83: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em – Super Turbo, Neel battled through a massive field and secured a remarkable third-place finish. For his deep run, he earned $72,031 – roughly ₹54.7 Lakh – marking his highest-ever live tournament score and placing him on the radar of global poker watchers.

As of mid-2025, Neel’s live tournament earnings stand at over $199,000 (approximately ₹1.66 Crore). He is currently ranked #41 on the Top Indian poker players list. Joshi has been seeing money at WSOP since 2020, and has had more than 40 cashes at the prestigious brand, including WSOP online and bracelet events. His last cash before this was at the Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series in 2025, when he took home $3,417 and ranked 118.

With his WSOP 2025 cash, he has added himself to the already burgeoning list of Indians making money at the prestigious poker tournament series this year. Earlier, three Indians made money at Event #45, while Ankit Ahuja took some at Event #35.
