Nazara Technologies, one of the well-known brands in the Indian gaming industry, has just announced the launch of its new game publishing unit. Nazara Publishing has been launched to help multiple Indian game developers publish their products all across the world. It will also focus on helping the Indian developers partner up with their global counterparts and bring their games to the country.
As per reports published by G2G News, Nazara Technologies has plans to launch nearly 20 games in the next 18 months. The company is also looking to make a minimum investment of ₹1 Crore for every game during the time mentioned above.
Nazara has been focusing on the video game sector for quite a long time over the last few years via their esports sector, Nodwin Gaming. They have also been providing its own gaming services like World Cricket Championship, Animal Jam, Kiddopia, Classic Rummy, and others.

Speaking shedding light on the initiative, Nazara revealed how it will look to ensure that the developers also gain access to data analytics, localisation, beta testing, enhanced monetisation and better user acquisition and not just a platform to publish their games.
This idea is expected to help the games studios and developers as they will gain mentorship from top-level industry experts and leaders, which could prove to be beneficial in successfully publishing their games as well as grow well in the gaming industry.
According to the press release shared by the company, CEO of Nazara Technologies, Nitish Mittersain, has been quoted saying, “We are dedicated to nurturing both Indian and global game developers, providing resources, expertise, and a robust network to bring top-tier gaming experiences to India’s vast audience.”
He added how Nazara sees a significant opportunity with a particular focus on supporting Indian developers, citing the make-in-India initiative and will also promote Indian game developers globally as part of the same.
The launch of this new unit comes after the company raised ₹410 crore from SBI Mutual Fund as well as a ₹100-crore investment from Nikhil Kamath. The Zerodha co-founder is of the belief that the esports and video gaming sector will shine in the upcoming years and is a great investment opportunity.
The Indian gaming sector has seen a ton of emerging talented gamers, which has also led to a lot of focus going towards the development side of it, with many talented game development studios emerging in the recent past. One of the biggest examples of the same was the India Game Developer Conference (IGDC), which took place in 2022 and saw heavy participation by game developers from across the country.
