MyPoker52 Player Of The Month May 2022 – Krishna Gupta

Poker is a game for anyone and everyone who has the zeal, passion, and determination to learn. There are several upcoming poker players, who are proving that through their talent and play. One such player is MyPoker52’s Player of the Month – Krishna Gupta. 

Gupta, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, is currently located in Punjab. He makes sure he is grinding on the cash tables of MyPoker52 whenever he finds time. The 21-year-old started playing with as low as ₹20 now grinds on tables with ₹8,000 buy-in. He loves challenges and is always up to play hands that challenge the player in him. We got in touch with him to understand how he achieved the milestone of playing 9,495 hands throughout the month of May. Here’s what he had to share:

You have been selected as the Player of the Month on MyPoker52. How do you feel about that?

I feel very very happy about being selected as the Player of the Month by MyPoker52. 

You’ve been a regular player on MyPoker52, what’s the one thing you like the most about the platform?

It’s a very good platform to earn rewards. It has some of the best offers in the industry that enable players to win exciting rewards. I also like the leaderboards that MyPoker52 offers. They are super challenging, making it fun to play and compete. Not to forget, the customer support of the platform is simply the best. 

You’ve played a total of 9,495 hands throughout the month of May. How do you decide on the volume you put in for a month? 

I played for the leaderboard and that’s how I was able to put in so much volume. 

Tell us what your grinding schedule looks like?

I usually play from 6 PM to 12 AM post working hours. Or I just start grinding whenever I am free.

What is your strategy going into a tourney?

I don’t play many tournaments, I enjoy cash games more. I mostly use an aggressive strategy by betting and applying pressure on the opponents wherever appropriate.

What is the one poker mantra that you religiously follow or believe in?

I always challenge the players by raising the bets. 

Can you share one of your most interesting poker memories?

I remember this one hand where there was 20,000 in a pot. I flopped a full house with pocket aces in hand when A, T, T opened on the board. I was going strong till the turn, however, the river brought another T and my opponent flipped a four-of-a-kind with a T in hand. I had a bad beat and lost a significant amount in that hand. I remember this hand because that’s when I realised that the dynamics of the table can change really quick. 

How long have you been playing poker? 

I have been playing poker for the past four years now.

How were you introduced to poker?

It was my neighborhood friend Ajay Rawat, who introduced me to online poker. Initially, he’d insist that I play, but I never paid heed. Then one day I finally decided to try, and I have never looked back since then.

Describe what poker is to you in one word.

I would describe poker as ‘passion.’

Where do you see yourself in the next five years in terms of poker?

I see myself winning big pots and being known through poker. 

What do you like more – cash games or tournaments?

I, personally, prefer playing cash games. That is because cash games have more action as compared to tournaments. Tournaments can get slow after a point of time, but at cash tables, there’s always action, there are challenges all the time. Secondly, I can play cash games even for a lesser duration of time. Tournaments require you to invest long hours of play, which sometimes becomes difficult due to the day job and other factors. Cash games, as such, do not require you to invest long hours. 

Who would you like to go heads-up with?

I like to play against any player like me who bets big because that challenges me and I love the action that follows.

While we conversed with him, Gupta also shared that he ardently follows the interviews done by Gutshot Magazine with the players. He added that these interviews and the stories that players reveal inspire him even more to improve his game.
