Mohit Bohra Takes Down APPT Cambodia 2023 6-Handed Hyper Turbo Title


India’s Mohit Bohra has clinched his first international title and the prestigious PokerStars spade after shipping the 6-Handed Hyper Turbo event at the ongoing Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cambodia 2023 series. Bohra’s victory also marked India’s first win at the series happening at the Grand Ballroom of NagaWorld Integrated Resorts in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The $300 buy-in event saw a total of 56 players contributing to create a final prize pool of $14,666. Out of these, a total of eight players took home a share of the prize pool. Bohra was up against Korea’s Seongho Cho in the heads-up. The two players agreed on a deal guaranteeing Bohra $3,741 while Cho was assured $3,840.

However, they continued playing for the title and the trophy. Bohra with A 4 , rivered an ace-pair to beat Cho’s jack pair on the flop with Q J

Bohra told Somuchpoker,”It feels amazing! This is my first international trip, and to have that trophy feels amazing!”

Apart from Bohra, other Indian players have also progressed to Day 2s of different events. Among those who have advanced among the top stacks is India’s first solo bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer, who bagged the highest stack in the APPT National event. Asish Kumar Ghosh has made it to the final table and assured a place in the money with a stack size of 305,000 chips. Similarly, pro Amit Kaushik also bagged the second-largest stack of 342,000 on Day 1 of the Mystery Bounty event. Meanwhile, Kaushik also bubbled the APPT Nationals event.
