The Highroller feature event of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 took place yesterday (22 July 2021) with six players making it to the final table. The massive buy-in of ₹55,000 did not deter the participants from making this event a success. With an advertised guarantee of ₹1 crore, the winner of tonight’s Highroller tournament will certainly have a lot to brag about. The live-stream for the final table (FT) will be taking place at 6 PM today on Gutshot’s Facebook page. But before that let’s do a recap and see who were the six players who made the cut.
IOPC Highroller’s FT is all set and Mohit Bhati aka ‘jacktheripper’ is leading the lot with a chip stack of 21,80,432. Bhati is not new to the IOPC felts. Previously, this pro had shipped IOPC Wednesday and Sunday Prime on Spartan Poker. Leading with 55 big blinds (BB), this poker dynamite surely has the tactical advantage. However, given that none of the chip leads in this edition have gone on to win the tournament, we’ll need to wait and see if Bhati changes that jinx.
Leading in the second position is Millionaire August 2018 winner, Avadh Shah aka ‘cateyes’ who bagged a chip stack of 18,26,070. Among all the players on the FT, Shah has been playing poker for the longest period of time and has clinched a couple of IOPC July 2021 titles already. This pro is only nine BBs away from Bhati and he could just do the trick.
Third in line is Millionaire Legends April 2020 and IOPC July 2020 Super Highroller winner, Anuj Yadav aka ‘tittooTauji.’ Loaded with 14,87,582 chips, Yadav has 37 BBs. And while he sits with the third highest chip stack, his performance in IOPC so far has been spectacular. Keep an eye out for him during the live-stream tonight.
A regular winner in the online poker circuit, Sanat Mehrotra aka ‘orhem3001’ also made it to the Highroller’s FT. Mehrotra made his mark during IOPC January 2021 when he managed to ship 3 IOPC titles in just one day. This poker dynamo has a chip stack of 13,50,121 and 34 BBs. But while he is somewhere in the middle, with the skills Mehrotra possesses, the numero uno spot could be his.
Joining the FT club in the fifth position is Ankit Khattar aka ‘Asymptote05.’ Khattar ended up with 7,90,176 chips and has the second shortest chip stack. The Adda52 Millions winner started playing poker in 2018 and is determined to bring his A-game to the table. Khattar—an underdog, could turn the tables and clinch the winning title.
Lastly, we have Nitin Arora aka ‘Demogorgon’ who clawed his way to the final table. This New Delhi resident has won multiple Destiny titles on Spartan Poker and is a force to reckon with. However, tonight Arora will be playing with a chip stack of 3,65,619 and only nine BBs. While he could be the first player to bow out, it would be interesting to see if he manages to survive the heavy weights on the final table.
