Michael Soyza Poker Career 

Soyza got his first taste of victory in live poker tournaments back in 2011 when he started to cash out in tournaments. One year later, Soyza shone bright, winning two titles in 2012. He shipped the Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) event in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau to pocket $10,699 before winning the Deep Stack Turbo No Limit Hold’em (NLH) event at APT Manila to earn $3,050.

Soyza’s purple patch of form came back in 2015 when he won the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne, claiming $111,520 in winnings alongside the title. He repeated the same feat the next year to earn $102,118 in 2016. These back-to-back wins propelled Soyza’s poker career, which saw him replicate a similar run again in 2017.

The co-owner of APT, Soyza finished 2nd place in the APT Manila Championship to pocket $39,110 and the High Roller event at Poker King Cup Macau for $145,812. His outings in Macau from September 2017 to December 2017 were some of his best performances. His winnings also went through the roof in 2018 as Soyza won the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Main Event in Incheon, Korea, earning $148,629.

In 2018, the Game of Gold contestant had an impressive season as the Malaysian pro took his career to the next level. He ended up with 14 final table finishes in the next 12 months while claiming four titles and roughly cashing over $2.5 Million. 

Moving onto March 2019, he won the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series title to pocket $1,420,581 while also coming 4th in the Main Event of the August edition of the Triton Poker Series to record a $1,363,027 payday. Soyza also recorded three substantial wins in 2020 before the pandemic and returned to live poker in 2022 with a bang. Despite missing out on a title, he finished in the top 10 for 14 events to win over $1.5 Million that year.

The Malaysian recorded two of his biggest paydays in a live tournament career in 2023. He started the year off in his home country and recorded a runner-up finish in Poker Dream Malaysia’s Super High Roller event to earn $119,174.

After this, he recorded his career-best payday of $2.2 Million for second place in the Triton No Limit Hold’em Main Event in March. He shipped the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series NHLE  Cyprus Main event to win $1,735,000. These cashes saw his pocket over $4 Million in a single year.
