Match Poker India Supports Ukraine Amid Crisis

Match Poker India, took to Instagram a few hours ago and posted an image of well-known Indian grinder Shuchi Chamaria and two Ukrainian poker players. The two Ukrainian players were Vladimir Yese and Artem Koby. The post read as follows, “Praying for all our Ukrainian friends, hope you and your families are safe and healthy.”

The global online poker industry has taken a hit due to this situation as the traffic towards cash games has reduced considerably. Online poker giants PokerStars and GGPoker have many players grinding from the affected regions, which saw a sharp decline. While PokerStars saw a 10% decline, GGPoker saw a 15% dip. This war on Ukraine has affected the poker industry as news of the live tournament being postponed coming to light.

Well-known poker player Eugene Katchalov from Ukraine has been posting about his whereabouts on Twitter. The Ukrainian poker pro along with his wife and friends formed a small group and reached Hungary via road. Katchalov shared many updates of his escape from Ukraine on his Twitter handle.

On the other hand, Antanas Guoga aka ‘Tony G’ has set up a fundraiser for the people of Ukraine.
