Mahesh’s Flush Drowns Cowboys

The 60K Main Event has just begun and players are all pumped up and ready to grind. The action is a little slow but Table 4 at Level 2 saw Viney Singal bet 600 preflop from the small blind position with hole cards K ♠ K ♦ . The 25K Kick-Off winner Mahesh Shamsunder called his bet along with another player. The first three community cards 6 ♠ J ♣ 8 ♣ fell on the board and gave Shamsunder a flush draw. Singal bet 1,000 which was called by Shamsunder. The rest folded and the turn ran 7 ♣ completing Shamsunder’s flush draw. Singal bet 2,100 and Shamsunder raised 5,600. Singal called, the river gave J ♦ and both checked in anticipation of a full house possibility. Shamsunder took the pot home with his flush while Singal chipped down.
