Live Poker Series to Play in Asia – August 2024

Asia is the destination of several poker tournaments, and several live poker series now call Asia their home. Some of the most prominent and famous poker players make their way to the Asian sub-continent to do what they do best – take part in live poker series. Several Asian companies are now coming up with dazzling money, the best comforts and amenities, and an overall experience that makes not just Asian poker players but players from all over the world look forward to these events.

Some of the most popular venues for poker tournaments are Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, South Korea, Malaysia, and Goa in India. These events enjoy global coverage, enabling tournament winners to gain cash prizes, trophies, and fame. 

Upcoming live poker series in Asia – August 2024

• Poker Dream (Malaysia)

Poker Dream Malaysia is a premium live poker event held at multiple stops in Asia. This time, Poker Dream 11 will take place in Malaysia. Earlier Poker Dream events have been held in Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines as well.

The 2024 Poker Dream 11 series will take place between 1st – 12th August 2024, at Genting Highlands, Malaysia. The event has a MYR 5,000,000 GTD prize pool. The series has a Mystery Bounty Event, a special Ladies Event, and an Influencer Invitational lined up. The series boasts free entry, and a total of 250 seats are available for each of their events.

The tournament series launched in 2022. In 2023, Poker Dream 7 events were held in Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam, with the event being hosted twice in Malaysia and a Free Roll event.

• World Poker Tour Prime (Taiwan)

The World Poker Tour Prime is quite popular in Asia and attracts some of the biggest names in the Asian poker community. The tournament debuted in 2022. WPT has had multiple host locations, including Vegas, Madrid, Cambodia, and Taiwan. WPT Prime was held in India too, last at Deltin Royale Casino in Goa in 2023.

Starting this year we’re debuting the WPT Prime series. The first three stops we’re announcing on the tour will be in Cambodia, Taiwan, and Vietnam, bringing the Main Tour experience worldwide.

WPT Taiwan will take place between 6th – 19th August 2024. The tournament series has a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000, with a buy-in of TWD 35,000.

• China Poker Games (CPG Finals) (Sanya Bay, China)

China Poker Games (CPG) is among the oldest brands holding poker tournaments in Asia, beginning in 2013, and in 2024, it celebrates its 12th outing. The 12th Annual CPG Championship will be held at the Howard Johnson Resort in Sanya Bay, Hainan Island. The tournament series is a 10-day event between 12th – 30th August, with the finals set to run from 24th to 30th August 2024. The 10-day poker event has 39 trophy events and the prize pool is expected to be more than $13 Million.
