Kunal Patni Ships High Roller Event At APT Manila Classic 2025


The APT Manila Classic 2025 is ongoing, and another Indian is on the winners’ list—Kunal Patni, one of the most famous Indian poker players.  When the event ran into its final day, Patni was within the top five of chip holders out of 55 players. The total prize money was ₱4,180,176 (~$71,000). Patni was the chip leader at the Final Table and was locked in a heads-up with Yuki Miyakura for the trophy.  It was an eventful day for Patni, and he took home a total of ₱1,115,176 (~$19,184)(₹16,61,718), including bounties.

Patni is a formidable name in the poker industry, and he has become one of those rare individuals who has now shipped two events at a tournament. Earlier, he booked the Mystery Bounty trophy in his name, taking home PHP 8,15,176 (~$14,006)(~₹12,25,524). With this, Patni has once again dominated the poker headlines and shown his extreme skills at the poker table. According to Hendonmob, he is 9th on the India All-Time Money List. He has ~₹10 Crore in lifetime earnings from live poker, and his best take-out was at the World Poker Tour in Berlin in 2018, when he ranked 2nd and took home $1,15,819.

Patni also had a fantastic 2024. He consistently featured on the winners and ITM lists at USOP Phu Quoc, where he was the runner-up at Event#19: VND 4 Million Tick Tock BOOM! Super Hold’em and was in 9th place at Event #1, the Vietnam National Cup. Even domestically, he was the leader of the winning team, Deccan Aces, which won the Poker Sports League Season 6 in 2024.

The APT tournament has had a great run, beginning on February 7th and ending on the 16th of the same month. Ivan Gorovov took the first prize at the main event, $190,255. It remains to be seen how many Indian players will make their mark in the upcoming APT tournaments.
