Kunal Patni Makes It To The FT Of PokerNews Cup $1 Million Mystery Bounty


Indian poker pro, Kunal Patni, who is currently in Las Vegas grinding at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023, was recently seen grinding at the 2023 PokerNews Cup Event #78 $1,100 Mystery Bounty event. 

The event had a buy-in of $1,100 buy-in. A total of 2,331 entries chipped in to generate a final prize pool of $2,261,070. After three starting flights the top 292 players marched their way to Day 2. All survivors of Day 2 made it in the money and cashed a min-cash of $1,125.

Patni has made it to the final table of the event. He shared the update on his Instagram stories. The final table of nine will resume tomorrow. Leading the pack is Argentina’s Felipe Olivieri, with a massive stack of 30,825,000 chips (103 BB). Olivieri’s bank of chips required two bagsSlovenia’s Vid Zagar follows at the second spot with less than half the stack of the chip leader, with 12,275,000 (41 BB). Patni has the second-lowest stack of 2,675,000 (9BB). 

Austria’s Kurt Radinger bubbled the final table after busting at the 10th place. He cashed $15,995 for his 10th place finish. All the final tablists have ensured themselves a min-cash of $21,920. However, all these nine will be eyeing the top spot which has a prize of $218,605 up top as well as the final $50,000 bounty.

2023 PokerNews Cup Event #78 $1,100 Mystery Bounty Final Table Chip Counts:

  1. Felipe Olivieri – 30,825,000 chips
  2. Vid Zagar – 12,275,000 chips
  3. Forrest Raleigh – 7,800,000 chips
  4. Humberto Lopes Galindo – 5,000,000 chips
  5. Johnny Kelly – 4,075,000 chips
  6. Eduardo Amaral Silva – 3,100,000 chips
  7. Tim Garles – 2,925,000 chips
  8. Kunal Patni – 2,675,000 chips
  9. Kyle Gross  – 1,750,000 chips

Apart from Patni, other Indian pros including Ashish Ahuja and Sanat Mehrotra also cashed at 2023 PokerNews Cup Event #78 $1,100 Mystery Bounty. Ahuja took the 232nd place for a paycheque of $1,180. On the other hand, Mehrotra pocketed $1,830 for his 101st finish.
