Kunal Patni Finishes 8th at APT Taipei PC 2024 Micro Main Event

Kunal Patni is having a great run at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024. He was at the #97 Micro Main Event—Final Day, which had a guarantee of TWD 3,000,000. Patni made it to the top 10 before busting out at 8th place and taking home TWD 1,20,000 (~₹3,13,000).

The event was tersely fought, with 90 people on the pay-out list from a total of 635 entries. Patni was knocked out at the hands of Dhanesh Chainani. Patni forked out a A ♠  and J ♦ , and the board put out 8 ♦ , 6 ♣, 3 ❤ , 2 ♠and 10 ♠ Chainani got a pair of 8s, sending Patni to the rails. 

Earlier, Dhaval Mudgal was busted at 13th position and received a payout of TWD 64,000 (~₹1,67,101) for his efforts. Patni has participated in other events in the current series and saw cash at #1 APT National Cup—Final Day—TWD 10,000,000 GTD. He was busted at 51st position in that event and took home TWD 40,000 (~₹1,67,101). Kaihung Hu topped the list of that event, taking him TWD 2,519,000.

About Kunal Patni

Patni has played in domestic and international series and participated in prestigious poker events, such as the WSOP, multiple times. The first time he saw a cheque in his poker career was the Asia Pacific Poker Tour – APPT Asia Championship of Poker, Macau in 2014.

He shipped the HK$2500 No Limit Hold’em Rebuy Championship and took home HK $176,200. At the time of writing his article, his best live cash was $115,819 at the World Poker Tour – WPT European Championship Berlin in 2018.

Patni has become the latest Indian name on the cash list in an international poker tournament. This is certainly good news not just for the player but also for the Indian poker community. Patni is a formidable name on the Indian poker scene and was recently the captain of one of the teams of the Poker Sports League, Deccan Aces, which won the current PSL 6.
