Jason Koon Wins Triton Poker Cyprus 2023 Main Event; Claims His Seventh Triton Title

Poker pro Jason Koon has added another Triton Poker title to his poker resume by shipping the $100K NLH Main Event at the ongoing Triton Poker North Cyprus 2023 series. This victory marks his seventh Triton Poker title, which is the highest by any player in the history of Triton Poker. It is also his second title at the ongoing North Cyprus edition.

The pro walks home with the top prize of $2,451,082. He beat Canadian pro Sam Greenwood in the heads-up to emerge victorious over the 65-player entry-field. The event paid out the top 15 players with a min-cash of $175,000.

Koon, who sat with the chip lead, limped preflop from the small blind. Greenwood shoved his 4.9 Million from the big blind, and Koon called. Greenwood flipped the Big Slick, while Koon had Q ♠ T ♦ to show. The board brought Q ❤ 9 ❤ J ♣ J ♠ 7 ❤ , giving Koon his winning two-pairs. Greenwood took the runner-up for a pay cheque of $1,923,918.

Earlier this season, Koon shipped the $20K NLH event for $663,000. Later he cashed at the seventh place at the $50K NLH event. He narrowly missed his seventh title by finishing second at the $25LK Pot Limit Omaha event. However, it didn’t take him long to bag his seventh title as he did so in style by taking down the Main Event. Apart from his seven titles, Koon has 32 cashes at the Triton Poker series with $21,792,985 in earnings at the series. He ranks second on Triton Poker’s All Time Ranking, just behind Bryn Kenny who sits at the numero uno spot.
