Jason Koon Joins The Ranks Of Negreanu And Hellmuth At Poker Royalty 

After an unexplained exit from GGPoker, this former Integrity Ambassador, has signed up with Poker Royalty. Yes folks, we are talking about Jason Koon who has signed a representation deal with the marketing agency. The 10-time Triton Poker Series champion now joins the ranks of Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Josh Arieh, Antonio Esfandiari, Patrik Antonius, World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023 Main Event winner Daniel Weinman among many other top poker players. 

Koon, who sits on the third spot of Hendon Mob’s All Time Money List with over $55 Million in live tournament earnings, grabbed headlines after his sudden departure from poker giant. A tweet shared by Koon informed about him leaving the poker brand and German poker pro Fedor Holz will be filling his shoes. Koon had joined GGPoker in 2021 and played a key role in establishing the Poker Integrity Council (PIC). 

Superuser Scandal Led To Jason Koon’s Exit From GGPoker?

 

GGPoker has been in hot waters with its players and poker fraternity over the superuser scandal which rocked its boat in December 2023. The news of the superuser scandal was all over the place with people asking Koon and other GGPoker brand ambassadors to speak up and share clarity on the matter. 

While Koon kept mum about the cheating scandal, GGPoker issued a statement and moved on. Koon’s untimely exit raised many eyebrows and many reportedly stated that the pro was not happy about the scandal. 

Till now there is no update on why Koon left but him joining Poker Royalty is a sure sign that the Weston born pro is looking at upping the ante with his professional career in poker. 

Poker Royalty also shared the news of Koon coming onboard on its Twitter handle which was reposted by the one-time WSOP bracelet winner. In an article shared by Poker Royalty, Koon is quoted saying, “I’m thrilled to join the ranks at Poker Royalty and work alongside some of the greatest in the game. Their reputation, contacts, and industry knowledge make them the best fit for me as I continue my professional career.”
