IOPC Legends Final Table Has Turned Into A Game of Thrones

India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 is running in full swing and 15 days of this poker festival have witnessed intense action and drama. With seven marquee events in all, the fourth marquee tournament on the schedule is the Legends event with ₹1.75 crores in guarantee.

Standing true to its name, the final table (FT) of the Legends tournament has some pro players from the poker industry slogging it out. Afterall, the Legends title is a prestigious one to nail. The ₹27,500 buy-in tournament that started on 25 July ran for a considerable time and was paused when the top six players were on the FT. This highly-anticipated tournament will resume at 6 PM today on Gutshot’s Facebook page. Let’s take a look at which pro player made it and who fell short.

Amit Gehani

IOPC Legends FT is all set and Amit Gehani aka ‘Kavipri’ is the chip leader in this tournament. This player has a chance to make it to the top as the jinx of the chip leader never shipping the tournament was broken by Mohit Bhati when he nailed the IOPC Highroller event after being the chip leader.

Talking about the tournament, the 41-year-old player says, “Hopefully winning IOPC Legends will be my biggest achievement.” With 121 BB in hand, we are eagerly waiting to see him crush the FT like a true pro.

Armaan Kochhar

Armaan Kochhar aka ‘space ace’ is an online reg who has been shipping tournaments regularly. Among the tournaments he has shipped in the past, Kochhar recently shipped the Superstack tournament on PokerBaazi and won INR 4.45 Lakh in prize money. Previously, he also finished at the 4th spot in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $70K (Dec 2014). This pro player is sitting on the second spot with 59 BB. The Delhi based player is all set to employ some of his best poker strategies on the FT today.

Arsh Grover

This 25-year-old pro is an online reg and holds several acclaimed titles to his credit. Arsh Grover aka ‘BigggTymeR’ had previously won 28 Lakh and 23.5 Lakh in Millionaire Legends on Spartan Poker and also shipped the Final Table Series Kick-Off event.

This talented player is one of the youngest pros on the Legends FT. With just one BB lesser than Kochhar, Grover is expected to make heads turn on the FT this evening. After a long wait, Grover finally made his debut in the ongoing IOPC July 2021 series. With Grover on Legends FT, a lot of high-intensity drama is expected once the tournament resumes.

Abhinav Iyer

Abhinav Iyer is enough for any pro to sweat like never before. This WSOP bracelet winner who goes by the nickname ‘hightr0ller’ is a champion among the lot. With 40 BB, Iyer’s game will be closely monitored and chopped down to detail. Iyer is an IOPC reg who has crushed many heavyweight tournaments in the past. While he is not the chip leader, players must be cautious as Iyer can turn the game in his favour.

Sumit Sapra

With the third-highest chip stack, Sapra is fifth in line on the Legends FT. Loaded with 14,17,968 chips, Sapra’s true game is yet to unfold. Sapra previously nailed Millionaire, 2 Of a Kind, Super Highroller on Spartan Poker in the past. This IOPC veteran is a former Asia Poker League ambassador who also finished 3rd in APL HR in Vietnam (November 2018). Another notable feat that Sapra achieved is when he finished 2nd at Series Highroller FT.

Rajeev Kumar

With 18 BB and a chip stack of 10,01,032, Kumar holds the 6th position on the Legends FT. While we don’t know which twist and turn the game will take once it resumes, this pro can either double his stack or will be the first to bow out. Only time will tell which player nails this distinguished Legends title. If Kumar is keeping a tab of all the previous FTs, then he must have surely noted how Nitin Arora doubled his chip stack and played one of his best games on the Highroller’s FT.

The bubble boy in this tournament was Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17.’ Poker pro Kunal Patni aka ‘NuttsTodayBluffTomo’ busted at 8th spot while poker coach Abhishek Goindi aka ‘MambaMentality’ finished on the 9th spot.

Final Table Chip Count:

  1. Amit Gehani aka ‘Kavipri’ – 67,92,293
  2. Armaan Kochhar aka ‘space ace’ – 33,27,589
  3. Arsh Grover aka ‘BigggTymeR’ – 32,50,130

  5. Sumit Sapra aka ‘AAdicted’ – 14,17,968
  6. Rajeev Kumar aka ‘AthenaVolt’ – 10,01,032

The Legends FT will surely heat up to keep everyone on the edge. Expect some fireworks on the final table once the game resumes. Nobody on the FT is going to play shy.
