Every poker player’s dream is to be on the same final table or in a heads up battle with Aditya Agarwal. Vaibhav Temani is one such grinder who has lived the dream of many players as he locked horns with Agarwal and even shipped the title. In July 2021, Vaibhav Temani aka ‘AllinPavBhaji’ was grinding in the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC), and all eyes were on the action that unfolded on the Main Event’s final table. After starting in the fourth position, Temani played slowly but steadily with just 55 big blinds against Agarwal, who had a massive chip lead of 10:1.
While everyone was rooting for Agarwal, Temani trusted his game, feared none and walked away like a boss with his hefty pay cheque after clinching the ME title. His victory on the virtual felts of Spartan Poker will always be remembered as heroic. While he shipped this event almost a year ago, we are still reminiscing about the heroic act and wish to remind our readers about IOPC Main Event winners.
The current edition of IOPC starts tomorrow, 2nd June and runs till 19th June. Offering ₹33 Crores in guarantee, this 18-day series offers high-value events at unexpectedly lower buy-ins. There’s also a ₹1 crore series leaderboard that players can grind for, The leaderboard crusher can win a massive ₹30 Lakh in prize pool.
The IOPC July 2021 champ is originally from Jaipur who now resided in Bengaluru. An investor by profession, this player is mainly active on the online felts. He credits his quirky username ‘AllinPavBhaji’ to a discussion he had with a friend about a business model to start a poker themed Pav Bhaji restaurant.
Gutshot also featured Temani on its August 2021 e-magazine cover. As the cover star he revealed many things about his game during IOPC July 2021. One striking comment from our interview with Temani was when he said, “Poker teaches you to start thinking in bits. Even when I think of investing, I think of the ups and downs and the particular odds that I am facing. Be it investing or general decisions, poker teaches you to bear short term outcomes.”

Here’s a video of Temani when at his first live tournament (IOPC Jan 2020):
Every year two IOPC series are hosted, and winners are crowned, but the victory of Temani will go down in history. The field he played on, the player he defeated and the anticipation with which the entire industry waited for the results will be remembered. After his spectacular win at the IOPC July 2021, Temani has clinched several online titles. We hope to see him grind in the June 2022 edition of IOPC and ship more titles, further cementing his position in the Indian poker fraternity.
