The online felts were charged with high-octane action with the 13th edition of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC). Players from Spartan Poker, PokerHigh, and BLITZPOKER were grinding hard to clinch a prestigious IOPC June 2022 title. The night saw Dinesh Pilkhwal, Varun Meena, Saurabh Jain, Sahil Chutani, Gopal Bajaj and more added titles under their belts. Here’s a full lowdown on the action.
The grind for the day started with IOPC #52 with its ₹4.5 Lakh guarantee. The event welcomed a total of 748 entries which was made up of 323 unique players, 112 re-entries, and 313 rebuys. Due to this amazing turnout, the ₹770 buy-in event was able to surpass its advertised guarantee and record ₹5,23,600 as its final prize pool. Players who made it to the top 63 spots finished in the money and walked away with at least a min-cash of ₹1,952. In the number one seat was BLITZPOKER Player of the Month (August 2021) Varun Meena aka ‘buffalosoldier’ who grabbed the title and took home ₹69,070 in prize money. The runner-up was mystery player ‘jabwebet’ who walked away with ₹57,024.
IOPC #53 was next to follow with a ₹1,650 buy-in and a ₹6.75 Lakh advertised guarantee. The tournament had 203 unique players, 59 re-entries, and 167 re-buys i.e., 429 total entries. The night ended with 39 players making the money and a min-cash of ₹4,657 being paid. The event ended in a deal with Gopal Bajaj aka ‘Mamacita’ taking the title and ₹1,06,282 in prize money. The runner-up was player ‘abhighosh31’ who walked away with ₹1,02,314 in his pockets.
The third IOPC tournament of the day had ₹4.5 Lakh as its guarantee and a buy-in worth ₹770. The event witnessed a total of 517 entries grinding on the felts from which 264 were unique entries, 51 re-entries, and 202 rebuys. The event ended with 47 places being paid and the min-cash was ₹2,565. The winner of this event was ‘BoomBoom1’ who had a payday of ₹87,705. BLITZPOKER player Utkarsh Vaish aka ‘kidpokerNJ’ was the runner-up and went home with ₹55,710.
The IOPC Monster Stack crushed its original guarantee and generated a final prize pool of ₹9,08,000. The ₹880 buy-in event had a total of 1,135 entries out of which 565 were registered players, 158 were re-entries, and 412 were rebuys. The top 103 players were paid, and the min-cash was ₹2,451. Mystery player ‘hutu001’ took home the title and ₹1,71,975 in prize money. Abhiroop Gupta aka ‘Ron007’ was the runner-up and pocketed ₹1,05,237 in winnings.
Next up was the Thursday Prime event with its ₹38 Lakh guarantee. The ₹4,400 buy-in event was a huge success as it recorded 488 unique players, 214 re-entries, and 370 rebuys which is a grand total of 1,072 entries. Owing to this, the event crushed its advertised guarantee to record a final prize pool of ₹42,88,000. At the end, players who finished in the top 103 spots made the money and the min-cash was ₹11,577. Saurabh Jain aka ‘Beast555’ shipped the event and earned himself a pay cheque worth ₹8,12,147. The runner-up was player ‘borntrouble’ who went home with ₹4,96,979 in prize money.
The biggest event of the night was the ₹1 Crore GTD High Roller event. The buy-in of the tournament was a massive figure of ₹55,000. With a total of 222 entries made up of 146 unique players, 36 re-entries, and 40 rebuys, the event also crushed its original guarantee. A final prize pool worth ₹1,11,00,000 was generated. The top 27 players made the money and took home at least a min-cash of ₹1,11,000. The biggest winner of the night was Deepak Raina aka ‘ogre’ after the event ended in a deal between him and Harshad Barve aka ‘Epic Whale.’ They took home ₹20,65,415 and ₹16,11,567 in prize money respectively.
The Thursday Spotlight had a ₹20 Lakh guarantee and a buy-in worth ₹3,300. The event surpassed its initial guarantee, and the final prize pool was ₹20,43,000. The event had 352 unique players, 82 re-entries, and 247 rebuys which brings the total to 681 entries. The top 63 places were paid and the min-cash stood at ₹8,887. The event was shipped by Dinesh Pilkhwal aka ‘$LuckyGuy$’ for ₹3,95,320. This is his second IOPC June 2022 title after he shipped the IOPC #14 All Rounder. Abhishek Chaurasia aka ‘Bittur’ was the runner-up for ₹2,49,246.
The All-Rounder event had an advertised guarantee of ₹11 Lakh and 760 total entries (401 unique players, 123 re-entries, and 236 rebuys). The initial guarantee was surpassed with the final prize pool being recorded as ₹11,40,000. The ₹1,650 buy-in event ended with 71 places being paid. The min-cash was ₹4,332. Sahil Chutani aka ‘$lim$hady19’ shipped the event and added ₹2,20,020 to his bankroll. The runner-up was Puneet Mishra aka ‘potpoker’ who had a payday of ₹1,38,624.
