IOPC Day 13: Mehta and Prakash Show No Signs Of Slowing Down


Day 13 of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) June 2022 running on Spartan Poker, PokerHigh, and Blitzpoker had players like Bhanu Prakash, Arjanveer Singh Chadha and Mohit Mehta ship events. Prakash was also leading on the leaderboard for two days until Dinesh Pilkhwal came back to the numero uno spot. The other leaderboard chaser who made it big yesterday was Mohit Mehta. Gopal Bajaj takes home his third title in this series. Keep reading to know more about the action that unfolded last night. 

IOPC #88 – ₹4 Lakh GTD 

The first event of the day was the ₹550 buy-in event. This tournament garnered 712 entries in total, comprising 346 unique players, 108 re-entries, and 258 rebuys. The top 63 players made it in the money. The min-cash stood at ₹1,740. The tournament was shipped by three-time leaderboard champion Bhanu Prakash aka ‘MafiaGaming.’ He cashed ₹77,400 in prize money. The runner-up who was an anonymous player called ‘habzera’ pocketed ₹48,800.

IOPC #89 – ₹7 Lakh GTD 

This IOPC event had 309 total entries, which was formed by 132 unique entries, 59 re-entries, and 118 rebuys. The top 27 players made it in the money in this ₹2,200 buy-in event. A min-cash of ₹7,000 was paid. The event was a deal between Mohit Savargaonkar aka ‘OfcourseOfcourse’ and Kshitij Kucheria aka ‘TheG0dfath3r.Savargaonkar pocketed ₹1,14,040 in prize money while Kucheria cashed ₹1,09,817.

The IOPC #90 event garnered 516 entries in total, comprising 294 unique entries, 51 re-entries, and 171 rebuys. The top 47 players made it in the money. The min-cash stood at ₹2,565. The ₹880 buy-in tournament was shipped by Umesh Vishvanath Mundhe aka ‘Umesh23062003’ who received ₹87,705 in prize money. The runner-up was leaderboard crusher Bhanu Prakash aka ‘MafiaGaming’ who pocketed ₹55,710.

IOPC #91 – ₹6 Lakh GTD 

The fourth event of the day had 844 entries in total, comprising 401 unique players, 94 re-entries, and 349 rebuys. The top 71 players made it in the money in this ₹770 buy-in event. The min-cash stood at ₹2,280. The  tournament was a deal between Mohit Mehta aka ‘thejoker’ and Jogesh Chimnani aka ‘Infinite Intelligence.’ Mehta and Chimnani cashed ₹99,416 and ₹89,343 respectively.

IOPC #92 Tuesday Prime – ₹33 Lakh GTD 

The Tuesday Prime tournament had 531 unique players, 239 re-entries, and 346 rebuys, which led to 1,116 total entries. The top 111 players made it in the money in this ₹3,300 buy-in event. A min-cash of ₹8,370 was paid. The event was a deal between Gopal Bajaj aka ‘Mamacita’ and an anonymous player called ‘Jyoti Pegu.’ Bajaj had a payday of ₹5,83,673 while ‘Jyoti Pegu’ cashed ₹4,34,118. The advertised guarantee was surpassed and players fought for piece of ₹33,48,000. Talking about his victory, Bajaj added, “In poker, you bust in 99 tourneys to go on winning the 100th! There should not be an option to quit. Keep crushing!” His plan for the week is to show up everyday and focus on the events to come! With this event, Bajaj added the third IOPC title to his kitty. 

IOPC Day 8: Deepak Raina Nails High Roller For ₹20.65 Lakh

  • Prize pool: ₹33,48,000
  • Buy-In: ₹3,300
  • Places paid: 111
  • Min-Cash: ₹8,370

IOPC #93 Tuesday Spotlight – ₹15 Lakh GTD

The Tuesday Spotlight event garnered 829 entries in total (414 unique players, 102 re-entries, and 313 rebuys). The advertised guarantee of this event was surpassed and the final prize pool stood at ₹16,58,000. This ₹2,200 buy-in event was a deal between a mystery player who goes by the moniker ‘FTBeast’ and yet another anonymous player called ‘sicky.’ ‘FTBeast took home a pay cheque of ₹2,35,086 while ‘sicky’ cashed ₹1,93,460. The top 71 players made it in the money. The min-cash of ₹6,300 was paid.

IOPC #94 – All Rounder – ₹11 Lakh GTD

The guarantee of this ₹1650 buy-in event was surpassed by a small margin and players fought for a prize pool of ₹11,11,500. The tournament had 741 entries in total, comprising 303 unique entries, 105 re-entries, and 333 rebuys. The tournament was a deal between Arjanveer Singh Chadha aka ‘bazzingaa’ and Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘Captain Falcon.’ Chadha cashed ₹1,87,907 in prize money while Mahboobani pocketed ₹1,64,438. The second runner-up in this event was the lawyer turned poker pro Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ who pocketed ₹98,812.
