India Wins Multiple Titles at Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila 2024


Indians are rising and going high in the international poker scenario, and the winning round continues. Three Indians have won titles at the ongoing Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila 2024. The tour is still in the first week, and Indians now share 10 cashes and 3 title wins.  The event will go on from 24th July to 5th August 2024 at the Cove at Okada Manila, in Manila, Philippines. A total of 67 events are planned.

Indians who won big at Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila 2024

Animesh Jain won Event #12: ₱15K Win The Button – Hyper Turbo on 25th July. This was his first live title. He also takes home a career-best cash of ₹1.73 Lakh. Next, Rishi Karamchandani won Event #17: ₱20K Bubble Rush, and even took home his first-ever live title, winning a head-up deal for ₹1.83 Lakh.

On 30th July, Pratik Modi joined the list of winning names by dominating the competition at the ₱1 Million GTD Event #36: ₱15K Super Deep,  and won around ₹9.61 Lakh.

Jain is a prolific Indian poker player whose total live earnings are under ₹2 Lakh. Rishi Karamchandani is another well-known name in Indian poker circles. His best live cash is also in the ₹2 lakh region. 

Pratik Modi is one of the more popular Indian poker players. Before this, he placed 11th at the #38 Event of World Poker Tour  – WPT Cambodia Championship, held at Phnom Penh, the  No Limited Hold’em -Superstack Turbo Freezeout on 28th January 2024All in all, the event is bringing some good news to the Indian poker community and players from the country.

There are a couple of events set up for APPT. The Main Event will be held from 1st – 5th August and has a guaranteed prize of ~₹8 Crore. Then on 2nd August, the Single Day High Roller Event will be held. From 4th to 5th August, the Mystery Bounty Event has a guaranteed prize of ~₹70 Lakh.  The APPT High Roller Event will run on 4th-5th August, with a guaranteed prize money of more than ₹I Crore.

With so many events still about to take place at Asia Pacific Poker Tour APPT Manila 2024, and Indians in the fray, it’s a possibility that we will see more Indians taking home cash prizes in the future. The series has some of the biggest names in the international poker fraternity trying their best to ship events and win cash prizes, so it should be interesting viewing for poker fans and audiences.

Indians winning at international events is good news for budding and current Indian poker players. After all, it gives them hope and creates newer opportunities for Indian poker players to get into the fray when it comes to playing poker at a professional level.  Indians have already shown their caliber this year, with Siddharth Karia and Vikaash Shah having some incredible wins at the WON Poker Cup
