India Out Of USOP Grand Finale ME Race, 7 See Cash


U Series of Poker’s USOP Grand Finale has reached its Main Event, and the hands are seeing several of the big names in poker either in play or taking home formidable amounts of money. The total number of entries for the USOP Grand Finale Main Event was 1,958. The event began on 5th December and will culminate with the winner’s name announced on 9th December.

Indians have had a great time at USOP this month so far. While we had a bigger contingent at the series overall, seven Indians made the money in the Main Event but have now been taken out of the race. The advertised guarantee for this event was VND 40 Billion, but the good turnout at the venue meant that the total prize pool went up to VND 57 Billion.

Indians have had a grand time at the USOP Grand Finale and have seen cash at several events. For example, at the Mini Main Event, eight Indians made it to the ITM list, topped by Aditya Sushant, who ranked 10th and took home 241,000,000 VND. Earlier, Kunal Patni had made his way to the Final Table of the Mini High Roller event. 

The one name to look out for is Nageshwara Alaparthy, who has just begun showing his skills at the felts, what with narrowly missing winning his first live title at APPTCambodia 2024’s Event #19: $300 #Megastack.

The lowest amount an Indian took home in that event was Ashish Munot, who ranked 141, adding VND 35,000,000 to his name. Earlier, Ankit Bhansali shipped the Midweek Superstack. While no Indian is currently active in the Main Event, the Indian players have done a commendable job by shipping events and being ITM at other USOP Hai Phong events.
