Hockey Sticks Save Mahesh

Mithun MaheshAnything can happen in love, war, and poker! Keep that in mind as you read the next hand because some crazy things went down on Table 6 at Level 8 of the tournament. Mithun Mahesh bet 2,000 preflop with pocket sevens and was called by the rest in the hand. The flop brought 3 T 2 and Romit Advani bet 3,800, Nimit Patel who had A T raised the bet to 10,800 as he had flopped a pair and here is where things got a little interesting. Mahesh thinking that the bet was still at 3,800 put a chip in to call. However, when he realised his mistake and wanted to back away, the tournament director prevented him from pulling out of the hand as he already made the call. So, unwillingly Mahesh called the 10,800 raise made by Patel and Advani called as well. In a twist of fate, the turn 7 became Mahesh’s saviour as he hit a set. With this new development, Mahesh went all-in for 35,000 and Patel called for 63,600 and Advani folded. The river 6 came and when the cards flipped, Mahesh won the hand and busted Patel from the tournament! What a game!
