Hemanth Chowdary wins The Flash at Spartan

Most valuable tournaments and promotions happen only on TheSpartanPoker.com with huge guarantees and small buy-ins. Every Thursday’s featured tournament The Flash guarantees INR 11 Lakhs with a buy-in of INR 4,400, starting at 7:30 PM. It was Hemanth Chowdary who plays under the moniker ‘brainmay’ who knocked down 268 entries to take the first-place prize of INR 2,55,750. Chowdary defeated Shravan ‘D.Trump04’ Chhabria in the heads-up battle, taking the second place prize for INR 1,73,250. The prize pool was collected by top 23 places with a min-cash of INR 12,760.

Chowdary started playing poker during his college times for fun and quickly found interest in it, where he started online with low stakes after college and played straight for 15 months without any scores. Speaking about the tournament, he said, “The Flash win is the first major score of my lifetime. In this tournament you are bound to take chances with your cards. I tried to move my chips when I was ahead and got lucky at instances where in other hands I had a great run. I will try to be in the poker circuit as much as possible and I want to be a tourney specialist in future. I like to play cash games, but tournaments are the way to go forward for me.”

The winner was announced at 12:36 am when the last hand happened in Level #40 with blinds 12,000-24,000-3,000 where after posting blinds both the heads-up opponents pushed their chips in mid of the table to see the showdown. D.Trump04 held 7c Ac and brianmay was holding Ks Kd. The showdown saw 6d 8h Qd Kc 6c where brianmay hits a full house, Kings full of Sixes and also takes down the first place prize while D.Trump04 was eliminated in second place.

These feature tournaments are a part of the ongoing Hot Tournament Leaderboard Challenge where ‘trickpoker’ is leading with 2,353 points at first place, Aditya ‘SuperuSer’ Sushant is at second place with 2,326 points and at third place is ‘Nomercy3801’ with 2,316 points. One week left for the INR 15 Lakhs Hot Tournament Leaderboard Challenge where the first-place finisher will get INR 5 Lakhs into his Spartan account.
