Gaurav Sood knows no limits; ships Saturday Social now

Ever heard people saying everything you touch turns to gold? Well, that 100% applies to Gurgaon’s Gaurav Sood at the moment, who isn’t literally turning things to gold. However, he’s playing poker and he’s playing it well. He’s turning every buy-in into a victory, irrespective of which platform he’s playing on.

In the last week itself, we’ve reported a couple of major titles for Sood, one being Wednesday Stars on PokerStars India and another being a PPL title a couple of days prior. His accomplishments on the virtual felts just seem to keep getting better with time and you can track them all here.

Why we’re talking about Sood again is because he has turned to Spartan Poker for his latest win, shipping the Saturday Social last night, one of the newer offerings on this platform. With a buy-in of INR 3,300, the tournament began at 7:30pm last night and attracted a pretty decent field of 250 entries.

Pay-outs went to the top 23 (min-cash INR 9,280) from this field and Sood outlasted them all last night, picking up another healthy bankroll addition. It was 1:10am this morning when Sood decided to cut a heads-up deal with ‘Psycorp1’ to put an end to the tournament and add another title to his online poker CV.

Having a larger chip stack at the time of the deal, Sood, playing as ‘mozzie17’ took away INR 1,63,805 as a part of the deal while his heads-up opponent was awarded INR 1,48,195. It would’ve been a nice way to celebrate a Saturday night for both these poker players, and they’ll be looking to keep up the form when the much-awaited weekly Sunday grind begins today evening. He is currently also on top of the PPL SE Leaderboard.

Talking about his recent run and this latest victory on Spartan, Sood spoke to Gutshot and said, “I’m feeling good and in the zone and have been giving consistent results. Hope to work towards my game and keep delivering.”
