Gaurav Sood beats pro-packed FT to win PokerBaazi Summit

What a Final Table it was last night on PokerBaazi, packed with poker pros from around the country but by the end of it all, we can only have one winner. Every Thursday night, Summit INR 15 Lakh GTD is played on this platform and last night, it kicked off at its usual time of 8pm.

With all of the attention on the IOPC SHR on Spartan, a big participation was not expected last night and yet, the guarantee was smashed with 244 entries all paying the buy-in of INR 8,250. PokerBaazi has become one of India’s most loved poker platforms and that was evident once again as the prize pool was taken up to INR 18.3 Lakh with the top 27 places being paid a minimum of INR 15,189.

Gaurav Sood aka ‘gaug17’ was back from a recent trip to Vietnam where he played in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) live series and did decently too, finishing runner-up in one of the PLO events. Last night however, he shipped Summit from the comfort of his home and added a handsome amount of INR 4,30,599 to his poker bankroll.

Sood has been registering online victories across all platforms since the last 6 months but last night, he was up against some of the top pros in the business. Some of them to feature on the Final Table were Jasven Saigal (8th), Vivek Singh aka ‘Nutpeddling729’ (5th), Sajjan Barnwal aka ‘TheTeacher’ (4th), and Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’ (3rd).

In heads-up, Sood was pitted against Lakshpal Singh aka ‘boomtlt23’, someone who was also on the recent trip to APT Vietnam. Here, Singh wasn’t able to maneuver his way past Sood and the former had to settle for the runner-up prize of INR 3,02,133 when the tournament ended today morning at 3:02am!
