Las Vegas poker rooms move to eight handed tables with plexiglass

In light of the rising case count because of the Covid-19 pandemic, casinos along the Las Vegas strip began to reopen on 4 June. The State Government Steve Sisolak aimed at rejuvenating the economy by welcoming people and tourists back to Las Vegas city. Nevada is reaching somber coronavirus milestones, topping 58,000 confirmed cases since the pandemic began and approaching 1,000 deaths.

With the reopening of Las Vegas casinos, the prospects of live poker seemed distant. The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) initially worried that packed tables could lead to the spread of coronavirus. With players sitting right next to each other and breathing all over the table. The NGCB put in measures to force social distancing in poker rooms as best as they could.

A sudden spike in COVID-19 cases within the first week of casino reopening, forced the government to reimpose capacity restrictions and made wearing a mask compulsory in Nevada. The Nevada Gaming Control Board eventually allowed poker to be six handed and this week have permitted them to be eight handed.

The Venetian poker room is installing plexiglass dividers to allow eight-handed games. Ten tables already have dividers, and all 32 tables in the room will be fitted with plexiglass in the next two weeks. The Orleans and South Point have become the latest poker rooms in the Las Vegas area to expand to eight-handed play. The rooms recently announced that they installed plexiglass dividers that allow for eight-handed play. Las Vegas poker rooms move to eight handed tables with plexiglass

Caesars Palace, the Flamingo, the Golden Nugget and the South Point are also hosting five-handed games without plexiglass.
