Football star Neymar Jr makes deep run in SCOOP Event 118

Poker fans around the world have glued their eyes on 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) and the action has certainly intensified! Numerous prominent names in the industry and several poker pros are taking home more than two titles, just like Viktor Blom who grabbed three SCOOP titles within six days!

Well, the skill-based sport has attracted several Hollywood and football superstars over the years. And now that the coronavirus grinds the sports world to a halt, several of them have shifted their focus to online poker. This in particular is for Brazilian footballer and global superstar Neymar Jr. who is no newcomer to poker.

This time last year Russia’s Konstantin Maslak aka ‘krakukra’ was celebrating winning PokerStars SCOOP Player of the Series award but right now Maslak once again puts himself in the position to repeat the title! Event #118 High – $2,100 Six Max Turbo NLHE PKO pulled out 225 hopefuls hunting for the prize money.

The event generated $450,000 in prize pool including $225,000 in bounties. A good friend of PokerStars Ambassador Andre Akkari, Neymar Jr. aka ‘neymar-jr’ finished in the 12th position for $4,219 + $2,500 in bounties. The pro footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team has a recorded live cash in 2018 Brazilian Series of Poker finishing 6th for $21,072.

The action intensified with O”Pazzzo” leaving the table in 6th place followed by ‘wiisssppppaa’ and ‘great dant’ in 5th and 4th position. Mike ‘goleafsgoeh’ Leah departed in 3rd place. Heads-up began between Dajvey and Maslak and the latter eventually took down the event securing $37,899 + $35,046 in bounties ($72,945).

The champion has accumulated over $1.3 million in total live earnings and is the owner of a WSOP bracelet! Maslak now sits second on the 2020 SCOOP Player of the Series behind Rui ‘RuiNF’ Ferreira with only six events on Sunday before 2020 SCOOP draws to a close. Final table payouts:

2. Dajvey – $37,899.65 + $6,906.25
3. Mike ‘goleafsgoeh’ Leah – $24,031.12 + $20,640.63

6. O”Pazzzo” – $9,875.43 + $10,000.00
