Ex-WPT Senior Director Cathy Zhao Joins Triton Poker As COO

The poker industry is experiencing major changes. Catherine Zhao, a former senior director at the World Poker Tour (WPT), has joined Triton Poker as chief operating officer (COO). She announced her professional move on her LinkedIn profile. 

According to her LinkedIn profile, Zhao joined WPT as an Event Manager in 2015 and held various positions within the company, including Director of WPT DeepStacks and the aforementioned Senior Director post. Zhao brings extensive experience managing and running events to Triton.

Cathy Zhao has ample experience. She handled WPT events earlier and worked for the company in Sanya and Beijing. She then led the WPT DeepStacks event, a mid-major event for the poker brand. 

From there, she branched out to start working events in Europe and the United States. Her roles gradually expanded until she was offered a great opportunity to take the lead for the WPT’s mid-major tour, WPTDeepStacks. 

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a globally renowned series of high-stakes poker tournaments. Established in 2002, it has become a cornerstone of the professional poker scene. Some of the game’s best players compete for prestigious titles and multimillion-dollar prizes.
