DPT May 2024: Harshdev Jhirmiria Ships Maiden DPT Title

The ongoing Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) May 2024 crowned another winner in Harshdev Jhirmiria. The young lad from Mumbai shipped his maiden High Roller title at the much awaited series for a sum of ₹34,30,180. Jhirmiria had recently scooped his first live trophy at Poker Dream 9 Malaysia. He won the Mystery Bounty tournament for over ₹33 Lakh. The DPT May 2024 Highroller title is Jhirmiria’s first live win on home turf. 

We asked the Highroller champ about his thoughts on shipping his second live tournament and he happily replied saying, “It was a really good feeling to win my first title at the home ground and that too it being a Highroller event is like a cherry on top.”

The final table was a rather star studded one with names like Kunal Patni, Kanchan Sharma, Ashish Ahuja, and Myron Pereira grinding for the top spot.

DPT May 2024 Highroller 

This ₹1.10 Lakh buy-in event had a starting stack of 100K with the levels lasting for 40 minutes on Day 1 and 50 minutes on Day 2. The late registrations ended at the start of Level 14 and the top 20 places were paid. The min-cash was ₹259,312. The total number of entries in this event stood at 157.

When it came to heads-up, the Highroller winner beat former DPT Main Event champion Rishabh Vekaria. The runner-up took a pay cheque of ₹25,43,774 for his second place finish.

The heads-up session witnessed only one hand unfold. Vekaria had 5Jo while his rival had 93o. On a board of 8♥ 7♦ 9♦ 3♠ 5♣, Jhirmiria’s 93o held, giving him a stellar victory and first DPT title. 

 

The Deltin Poker Tournament is currently running full steam at the Deltin Royale in Goa, and more winners will be crowned in the coming days.
