Dhaval Mudgal, Kunal Patni, And Others Cash In WSOP Event #43


As live events for World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2021 began this month, poker players from all over the world packed their bags and took off to Las Vegas. Among these, several notable players from India also joined the WSOP action. Abhishek Goindi, Kunal Patni, Kartik Ved, Nikita Luther, Neel Joshi, Dhaval Mudgal, were just some players that made the trip to Las Vegas.

Earlier today, Day 2 of WSOP 2021 Event #43: $1,000 Double Stack took place and four of the Indian players, Kunal Patni, Dhaval Mudgal, Neel Joshi, and Sriharsha Doddapaneni had an in the money (ITM) finish. 1,046 survivors from Day 1A and Day 1B made it to Day 2, with the top 599 players making the money.

Joshi was the first to bust from the lot, finishing in the 446th position for $1,752 (₹1,31,520). Next to depart was Doddapaneni who busted just an hour before Day 2 ended. Taking the last stand were Patni and Mudgal, who almost tasted victory but couldn’t make it to Day 3. Close to the finish line, Patni exited the tournament in the 168th position for $3,124 (₹2,34,514) in prize money. Mudgal was the last Indian standing but busted in the 154th position for $3,124 (₹2,34,514) just moments away from reaching Day 3.

By the end of Day 2, a total of 149 players bagged and tagged, however, with Patni and Mudgal busting out just before Day 2 ended, no Indian players advanced. Once the dust settled, poker player Jeff Platt from the United States was leading the 149 survivors with a chip stack of 3,315,000 (111 big blinds).
