Deccan Aces Win PSL Season 6

The Poker Sports League (PSL) Season 6 culminated at the Novotel Goa Resort and Spa on 16th September. Six players of the final six teams fought for the final prize at the Main Event’s final table. Deccan Aces clinched the Championship with their flawless strategies and bold moves and became the only poker team to become two-time PSL winners.

At the Grand Finale, the team’s captain, Kunal Patni and players, Mithun Mahesh and Advait Rajguru, played their hearts out against all odds. The team took home ₹1 Crore prize money and the gorgeous PSL trophy. Mithun Mahesh was judged the Player of the Season and took home a ₹2 Crore bonus.

The news of the win went viral almost immediately, with Kunal Patni, the Captain of the winning Deccan Aces team, sharing the news on his timeline.

How Deccan Aces Journied To The Top at PSL 6

The Deccan Aces lifting the trophy is a commendable feat, especially considering they were low in the points table several times in the series, beginning with the Qualifier Matches that ran from 26th August to 1st September, ranging from 6th position to 3rd.

They were the third-last on the Grand Finale Stacks table, with a stack of 80,000 and 260 points. Kolkata Wizards led that list with 345 points and a stack of 500,000. The last on the list were Goa Gators, with a stack of 60,000 and a rack-up point of 253. Suffice it to say, the Deccan Aces made it a long way to the top,

The entire series was streaming live on JioCinema, making it one of the few Indian poker events that garnered mainstream viewership. The event has captured the poker audience’s attention, with some of the biggest names in the Indian poker scene, including Zarvan Tamboli, captain of the Bengaluru All-Stars team, sharing photos and videos from their time there.

The reigning champions, Mumbai Anchors, had a pretty good outing this time around, too. They were formidable at the points table throughout the series, and their Captain, Laksh Pal Singh, won the Captain’s Match.

The win will be a strategic addition to the arsenal of all the Deccan Aces members. We are sure that we will see all members of Deccan Aces in several other new roles in the future. We at Gutshot Magazine congratulate the winners and offer them our best wishes.

The sixth season of the Poker Sports League was quite popular, and its unique aspect of streaming on Jio Cinema added to the uniqueness of the entire series. It comprises Qualifier matches conducted online. This year, seven teams aimed for the highest prize, one more than the regular six. The qualifiers were open and free, and contestants could sign up for 8 daily PSL Tournaments to rack up enough points, making it one of the most lucrative tournaments to sign up for.
