Daniel Negreanu Plays The Robbi Lew Hand On Day 1C Of WSOP ME

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023 Main Event is underway, which saw over a thousand players register to battle it out in the Main Event for the coveted title. Amid one of the most awaited events in WSOP 2023 being underway, at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, it would be interesting to see if the ME breaks previous years’ records.

With Day 1C of the WSOP Main Event keeping up the tempo and kick-starting on a strong note, already saw a cheeky hand being played between Daniel Negreanu  and Nick Schwarmann. It is very difficult to keep DNegs out of the limelight especially when it is WSOP.

Daniel Negreanu plays the Robbi Lew hand

Grinding it out on Day 1C of the WSOP Main Event, one of the most well-known names in the poker industry, Negreanu got dealt the famous Robbi Lew hand (J4o). The action till the river was pretty vanilla, till Negreanu hit  a straight when Ten showed up on the river. Some chit chat between the two rivals made for an intriguing watch, but Kid Poker’s opponent folded his 87o in response to DNegs’ river bet. But what caught our attention is how Schwarmann knew that Negreanu had a Jack if not anything more than that.

While Schwarmann oddly kept faith in his 8c 7h , the six-time WSOP bracelet winner hitting a straight looked like a fairytale ending.

The flop of Ac 8s Qh popped up, handing Schawrmann  his eight-pair. He and Daniel decided to check as the turn card came out as 9h. Both the players were seen conversing over the outs and possible hands while checking once again as the river flashed Ts  to hand Negreanu a Queen-high straight.

kidPoker, being the character he is, hinted at the cards he was playing with Schawrmann  who folded by bringing up ‘Robbi Lew’ in the picture. He mentioned about playing  the Robbie Lew hand while stating how he had the right blocker.

Day 1C is over with Christopher Brammer leading in chips. Negreanu bagged a stack of just 25,900. It remains interesting to see which poker pro manages to walk away with the most prestigious WSOP bracelet, or will it be a new name to take away the coveted bracelet this time around? Only time will tell.
