Chirag Sodha wins Spartan’s inaugural Saturday Social

Spartan Poker is one of the leading brands in the online poker industry in India and it regularly comes up with many exciting offerings on its platform. One of its newest ones inaugurated last Saturday is the Saturday Social INR 8 Lakhs GTD. This tournament has now replaced Saturday’s previous feature tournament on Spartan, DareDevil.

Saturday Social began yesterday at 7.30 pm in the evening and got into the books by 1.05 am today morning. The total playing field attracted to the tournament was 212 entries (including 81 re-buys), for a buy-in of INR 3,300.

The player to overcome the field and ship the first ever Saturday Social was regular Chirag Sodha aka ‘chilling’ for INR 1,68,585. Sodha made a 3-way ICM deal with ‘Shippament’ (2^nd) and ‘addyb’ (3^rd). Shippament took home a good amount of INR 1,33,405 as part of the deal.

Sodha plays regularly on all leading platforms in the Indian scenario. He has made a handful of significant wins and deep runs in previous online tournaments. Last December saw him win Sunday Stacks for a good amount of INR 3,82,500 on 9stacks, a reputed poker website.

Sodha has played live too and has above $5k in recorded live cashes. He won his best live cash of INR 2.2 Lakhs in 2018 BLT Main Event back in April 2018 for finishing 6^th, where Australia’s Bobby Zhang won. He cashed in live events since 2017, like the 2017 DPT and most recently in July 2018’s DPT at Deltin Royale, Goa.

A young player like him winning events shows that the Indian poker community is going in the right direction. Last night’s win on Spartan too will see him adding a good amount to his bankroll, enabling him to play in more upcoming tournaments in coming months.

Now Spartan will host this tournament every Saturday at the same time-slot the DareDevil was hosted. This event will in no time become popular given Spartan’s reputation in the industry..
