The celebration of one of the earliest turbo tournaments at The Spartan Poker is underway this week. Aptly called the ‘Quickie Anniversary Series’, yesterday saw the Day 1 action come to a close across the first nine tournaments on schedule. Taking place from 13-16 February with 36 tournaments and over INR 1.8+ crore guarantee in total prizepools, this is a must-play for anyone looking for a lot of value in a short time.
Just like any other series at Spartan, this one too has an attractive leaderboard with a Suzuki Intruder motorcycle plus INR 40,000 cash heading -to the leaderboard topper. TheSpartanPoker has always ensured a high level of excitement in their series’ giveaways. Recently in December’s Spartan Super Series (SSS), the leaderboard topper Loveleen Singh rode away on cool Harley Davidson 750cc motorbike while the leaderboard winner of the biggest online poker series of the country i.e. India Online Poker Championship (IOPC), Sajal Gupta was awarded a Jeep Compass automobile!
The list of all winners of Day 1 are mentioned in the graph below but let’s have a look at last night’s featured event the Mega Stack. The tournament drew a total of 499 entries which boosted the 12L GTD to INR 14.97 lakhs prizepool. This pool was distributed to top 47 places with a min-cash of INR 8,533. The eventual winner of the tournament was ‘Button_Hai_Bhai’ outlasting these entries to claim the first place and the big prize of INR 2,91,765. The winner defeated ‘Drunkenf1st’ in headsup to claim the title.
The champion was announced in the Level #46 with the blinds running 120,000-240,000-24,000, where the heads-up player ‘Button_Hai_Bhai’ had 3d Ah and ‘Drunkenf1st’ was holding 5h 6d. Just like many last hands of the tournament both the players went all-in pre-flop to see the showdown board of Js Qh 7c Ks Td. ‘Button_Hai_Bhai’ made a straight from Ten to Ace on that board and ‘Drunkenf1st’ was eliminated in second place for a INR 1,85,329 payday. Stay tuned as we will bring you an interview with the winner shortly.
