The Day 2 of the Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) 2022 kicked off with much fanfare. The BPT Kick Off event reached its peak with Gaurav Sood shipping the title for ₹11,25,000. Sood battled a total of 384 entries to take his place at the top at the end of Day 2. By the end, the total prize pool for the BPT Kick Off was recorded at a staggering ₹54.29 Lakh!
While Day 1 started with 385 entries storming the felts, at the end only 18 survivors moved on to Day 2 with NJ Niranjan leading the lot. As Day 2 of the BPT Kick Off commenced, players busted until the final table was set with Gutshot’s January 2021 cover star Gaurav Sood headlining the table with 1,480,000 chips. Following him was Day 2 chip lead, NJ Niranjan with a stack of 1,370,000. Naresh Veeravalli, Sagar Raj, Archit Khandelwal, Abhishek Chhajer, were among the nine players who made it to the final table.
During level 25, Archit Khandelwal suffered a crippling blow to his stack from Naresh Veeravalli which left him with a massive 180,000 chip deficit. With only 30,000 chips remaining Khandelwal was auto all-in from the small blind after Raman Dixit opened from under the gun (UTG) for 120,000. As the rest of the table folded, Dixit and Khandelwal went head-to-head with K♦️Q♥️ and 4♠️9♦️, respectively. The board opened to 8♣️Q♣️6♥️5♣️2♣️ and Khandelwal was knocked out in 9th place for ₹1,12,500 after Dixit flopped queens.
The final table claimed another victim as Sagar Raj busted in 8th place for ₹1,45,600. Raj went all in with Q5 which was called by Niranjan who had T9. As the board ran out the to show 6897Q, Raj’s fate was sealed as Niranjan’s higher straight knocked him out of the game.
Next to go was Viney Singhal who went all-in with Q2 after Sood shoved with hole cards KJ. The showdown revealed cards 4557K and Sood took the pot after a two pair victory. Singhal finished in 7th for ₹1,78,000.
Piyush Goenka was eliminated next after he shoved with A8 and Abhishek Chhajer called with hole cards A5. The board opened to QQ5T9 and Goenka went out in 6th place for ₹2,13,600 after Chhajer won the pot with a two-pair. He was soon followed by Raman Dixit who busted in 5th place for ₹2,57,800.
