Ben Tollerene Wins PGT PLO Series Event #8 for $496,000


Ben Tollerene, full name Benjamin Tollerene, once again won a $25,000 championship event at a the PokerGo Tour series. Not long ago, Tollerene won the Poker Masters $25,000 finale for $510,000. Now, he won the PGT PLO Series $25,000 event for $496,000. Tollerene topped a field of 62 entries in the event and did so with extreme precision, as it seemed every move he made was the right one. The prize pool was $1,550,000.

Jeremy Ausmus was atop the 2024 PGT leaderboard, and Ben Tollerene climbed into 18th position with the win. He’s now up to 1,268 points on the season and is in a great spot to qualify for the season-ending PGT Championship. At the top of the leaderboard, Ausmus is followed by Daniel Negreanu and Michael Rocco. With the championship still in place, it remains to be seen how many points everyone accumulates and who tops and walks out of the list.

The tournament is currently underway and has seen some of the biggest names in the poker world, either in the money or shipping events. To begin with, Jeremy Ausmus earned his first PGT win of the 2024 season. He did that when he shipped Event #7: $15,100 Pot-Limit Omaha at the PGT PLO Series. Isaac Haxton won event #5, the $15,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Progressive Bounty at PGT: PLO Series II. Standing first, he took home the $169,740 first-place prize, plus  $214,000 in bounties.

Tollerene is one of the most famous poker players in the world. He has raked in enough to grab headlines, and he stands 76th on the All-Time Money list and 37th on the USA All-Time Money List. He has been around for a while as well, as according to Hendon Mob, his first cash-out was in 2008, when he stood 129th at the No Limit Hold’em event of The River Guaranteed $3,000,000, Thackerville, taking home $3000. With this win, Tollerene, has proven why he is so successful.

Since then, he has seen several cash-outs at some of the most prestigious poker events, including shipping event #23 at the 2018 World Poker Tour – WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, taking home $248,438. In the same year, he shipped event #5 of the U.S. Poker Open 2018 (USPO), Las Vegas, taking home $ 187,600. This year, he came frustratingly close to winning what would have been his first WSOP bracelet when he stood 2nd at the Event #55 of the 55th World Series of Poker – WSOP 2024, Las Vegas, taking home taking home $3,537,135, losing to Santhosh Suvarna, who won one of his two WSOP bracelets.
