So far, Battlegrounds Mobile India has crossed over five million downloads within a few days of opening early access. The brand ventured into the esports ecosystem with its latest acquisition. It has been rumoured that the publishers will be hosting an esports tournament as soon as the game is live.

The roster comprises former PUBG Mobile players Carry – Bharath Waji (in-game leader), Striker – Prasanth C (assaulter), Skilzz – Prajwal (assaulter), Evil Surya (assault), and Aravind aka Poison (manager of the team).

The roster consists of seasoned players like Carry and Striker who have been a part of team Tamilas since 2019. Team Tamilas was one of the top performing teams in the PUBG scene. The prolific team is also considered to be one of the best teams from Tamil Nadu.

In-game leader Carry led the team through the PUBG Mobile Club Open Spring Split where they eventually secured fourth place. The team defeated teams like Fnatic and Celtz to qualify for the Pro League Season 1 in 2020. Team Tamilas did not perform as expected and were placed in the bottom half of the points table during season 1 of the league. The team made a comeback with the India Series by securing the seventh spot nationwide.

This squad is expected to make a stunning comeback to the Indian esports scene by winning titles in Battlegrounds Mobile India. On the opening day, Battlegrounds received a staggering 7.6 million registrations in less than 24 hours. And now within just over 16 days, the developer has managed to receive over 20 million pre-registrations for its upcoming game.
